Brazillian developer Minimol Games (@minimolgames) and Australian publisher SMG Studio (@smgstudio) revealed an all new Developer Walkthrough showcasing some of the chess-inspired puzzle games that make up Chessarama, ahead of its launch later this year on Xbox and PC.
In Chessarama, the players will be able to enjoy a world of premium minimalist games, unlock collectibles and compete against each other by climbing the leaderboard. The reimagined chess game scenarios include cultivating a farmyard, fighting a dragon and fighting as a legendary Ronin in feudal Japan.
Prepare to reimagine chess as you never have before, with eight single-player variations of the classic board game that will force veteran chess aficionados to rewire their brains while also training new players to think like a chess master!
The Developer Walkthrough sees game designer Luis Júnior and game & UX designer Ana Carolina provide an overview of how Chessarama’s Lady Ronin game works. This feudal Japan-set variation of chess tasks players with guiding Lady Ronin to assassinate the enemy Shogun. Lady Ronin is an immortal character who moves like a Queen, but she can’t slay a unit that’s being guarded by another piece. Instead, she can only push it back. In order to access the enemy, Shogun, you’ll have to face off against enemy Bishops, Rooks, and Queens.
Bahnsen Knights, the third visual novel in a series inspired by mid-20th century pulp fiction and ‘80s home computer graphics from developer LCB Game Studio (@lcbgamestudio) and publisher Chorus Worldwide (@ChorusWorldwide), has shifted gears to a new December 14 release date on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5|4, and Nintendo Switch, as well as PC and MAC via Steam.
Originally expected to be released Oct. 26, the delay comes after the unexpected passing of artist Fernando “Fer” Martínez Ruppel’s sister. Fer pays tribute to her in a Steam Post today. Bahnsen Knights is dedicated to her memory.
As the two-man team picks back up work in an attempt to return to a sense of normalcy, they are putting the finishing touches on the third title in this trilogy of tales inspired by 1950s pulp fiction and 80s home computer graphics. A new demo is available now on Steam for PC and Mac as part of the October Steam Next Fest, featuring the first two chapters of the game.

Steer the narrative in multiple directions by making heavy, life-altering decisions.
Publisher PlayWay SA (@Play_Way) and developers Space Boat Studios, Polyslash S.A., and Baked Games S.A. announced that Tribe: Primitive Builder, a new open-world game that combines elements of builders, city management, exploration, and survival, is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The game releases this week on PC (Steam).
Tribe: Primitive Builder is an open-world title that focuses on a single-player experience, as the game is a mixture of several genres – while mainly a first person builder, the game focuses on managing and expanding a village. You’ll also find that there are plenty of mechanics around exploration, survival, hunting and crafting.
The gamers will get to play as the titular builder, who was sentenced to the Isle of the Banished, a place where different tribes live in the shadow of an ever-burning volcano. As the developers suggest, the story mode will be based on intriguing visions that emphasize the world of primal mysticism.
The Isle of the Banished has 4 distinct biomes. Each of these regions is a home of a different tribe. The player will get an arsenal of tools to play around with (a knife, an axe, a spear, and a pickaxe to name a few). While expanding the villages, there are 17 different types of buildings and 8 unique structures available in the story’s main missions. The progression is based on performing special rituals, which add up to a total of 28.
The developers estimate that the main story will take at least 30-35 hours to beat on average. Though exploring all the secrets of the island and fully developing each tribe will most likely take over 100 hours.
Tribe: Primitive Builder Features
an open world set in a primal wilderness;
building and management;
4 different tribes;
survival and crafting;
possibly over 100 hours of playtime;
Tribe: Primitive Builder will be available on PC (Steam) on October 12, 2023. The game will be released for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles later.
