Gael360 released a new version of his tools to dump Xbox 360 discs with a PC DVD-drive using an hot-swap method (means you'll have to open your drive - see previous news). This is a translation from french to english of what he said on the gueux forums about the new release:
I just released a big update of my tools, you will now be able to find the 'magic number' immediatly, without having to scan an unknown Xbox 360 DVD.
So there's no longer a difference between known and unknown games, they will all be detected/dumped the same way.
The advantage of this method is that you will be able to use wx360 directly to open the content of the DVD without having to dump it first. After doing the hot-swap you'll just have to open wx360, select the DVD-drive and click the DVD icon.
wxRipper will thus have a feature to find the 'magic number' immediately, without scanning the Xbox 360 DVD. The features related to dumping did not change.
jeremydammit finally got around to making this tutorial for duplicating any button on the 360 wireless controller. I know the quality of it overall is crappy but it will show you how at least...lol This first picture is a top view and has nine different numbered sections.

So you've seen all our raw dumps? but what can you use them for?
Nothing in their current form, yet! - But here we go with a nice extractor tool so that you can extract the dumps and check out the files, we even decided to release the source code, so that you can figure out the filesystem and make even nicer tools and clean up our horrible looking code, cause we are lazy and old!
Usage: extract360.exe gamename.360 [wildcard]...
For example: extract360.exe pi-nfsmw.360
Sit back and relax, and enjoy, these xbox360 games are quite large!
And a note to the tech guys: Yes, once you get past the protections and down to the raw bits on the disc, its just the standard xboxdvdfs, however the offset and layer breakpoint are different!
The guys over at llamma.com have spent quite a bit of time on this one and got through a good cross section of mods. Some for looks, performance, and capacity. It's been a productive 7 days.
