You may or may not recall a few story's i posted such as Battlefield: Bad Company Gun Tax and Pay To Play, No Way in which i had reported EA and Dice had a plan to sell you the better guns for Battlefield: Bad Company as down loadable content and how the gamer world got its panties in a bunch over the news.
Guess the battle is over and for once the gamers win with EA and Dice announcing: "We had some weapons that we were planning to release through various marketing programs, but they were actually flagged there like you were supposed to buy these weapons through Xbox Live Marketplace, and that was a misunderstanding between marketing and us the developers."
So the way to fix this is: "All weapons will be available immediately for collector's edition buyers, and gamers who purchase the standard edition will have to put in the time to reach top level to unlock all weapons."
Now the real deal is when they make comments like this one here: "DICE is built upon the multi player community, and we do listen to what people say out there. When we saw this big uprise ... we just decided that all weapons will be free in the game, and that's how it is now."
Just shows that getting mad and venting to the man wont always work but sometimes you get what you want, it takes public humiliation and bitching to make them listen but its all good now.
Thanks EA and Dice. :)

You know you been waiting but i bet you had no idea that you was going to get shamed on this game so bad.
Looks like the euro market will need to dig deep for the Rock Band Instrument Pack and it wont even include the game so the full setup is going to run you £180 and the DLC tracks will run you 160 MS points, at this price the euro consumer will be paying twice what the US consumer pays for the same content.
The press release said: “Rock Band’s unprecedented offering of over 70 songs to date currently available for purchase and download in the US will be made available in Europe beginning on Tuesday, May 27th. Each track will be available for 160 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360,” but on a some what good note they added “Following that date, all new Rock Band DLC will be available simultaneously in the US and Europe on a weekly basis."
While this news may be unfair and a pain in the wallet I'm sure it wont stop the game from flying of the shelves.

Since the game news gets so slow on Sundays i figured i wold give you a peek at this EW.com interview with the great Stephen King on how he sees violence in video games today.
While king admits that games are not his cup of tea he has formed a vary strong opinion of the games rating system and the flaws of trying to censor them.
Here is just a few clips of the full story Ware king said: "The kids are gonna find a way to get it, just as they'll find a way to get all-day shooters like No Country for Old Men from cable if they want. Or Girls Gone Wild, for that matter. Can parents block that stuff? You bet. But most never do. The most effective bar against what was called ''the seduction of the innocent'' when this hot-button issue centered on violent comic books 60 years ago is still parents who know and care not just about what their kids are watching and reading, but what they're doing and who they're hanging with. Parents need to have the guts to forbid material they find objectionable...and then explain why it's being forbidden. They also need to monitor their children's lives in the pop culture — which means a lot more than seeing what games they're renting down the street."
"What really makes me insane is how eager politicians are to use the pop culture — not just video games but TV, movies, even Harry Potter — as a whipping boy. It's easy for them, even sort of fun, because the pop-cult always hollers nice and loud. Also, it allows legislators to ignore the elephants in the living room. Elephant One is the ever-deepening divide between the haves and have-nots in this country, a situation guys like Fiddy and Snoop have been indirectly rapping about for years. Elephant Two is America's almost pathological love of guns. It was too easy for critics to claim — falsely, it turned out — that Cho Seung-Hui (the Virginia Tech killer) was a fan of Counter-Strike; I just wish to God that legislators were as eager to point out that this nutball had no problem obtaining a 9mm semiautomatic handgun. Cho used it in a rampage that resulted in the murder of 32 people. If he'd been stuck with nothing but a plastic videogame gun, he wouldn't even have been able to kill himself."
In my opinion Kings points are more then valid and show that you don't need to play games to see how lame the main stream medias attack on them really is, and again i say that it might not be such a big topic if more parents set down to play and explain games to kids and not just pop them in front of a TV and expect it to babysit the kid for them.
