I don't know whats going on here but if you read this report and know why Japan is getting to trade in old XBOX consoles for the 360 and free of charge i would love to have you fill me in on it, if they put that deal out here in the US i might just have a stack of 360's to the roof.
Kotaku reports: Starting March 3, Microsoft Japan will no longer service first generation original Xbox consoles (not Xbox 360s). This includes Xboxes that are under warranty as well as out-of-warranty consoles.
Microsoft Japan, however, is offering an upgrade to those owners with still-under-warranty first generation Xbox consoles in need of repair: Swap that busted console for an Xbox 360 free of charge.
It is possible to troubleshoot any Xbox problems via the Xbox.com support site as well as find out how to exchange that in-need-of-fixing first-generation, under-warranty Xbox for an Xbox 360.
A short video has just popped up on the internet which looks to be a gameplay video for the upcoming title "Dead Rising 2" from Capcom.
Capcom have confirmed that "Dead Rising 2" the long awaited sequal to the original zombie mall outing will be coming to both the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
According to japanese gaming mag Famitsu the 360 version will be getting a few extras but there will be no major differences.
The leaked "Dead Rising 2" video has a reference to a drug that turns out ‘to almost be complete effective’ against the outbreak.

On the FAR CRY 2 community forums, Community Developer ATMON posted about a new patch for FAR CRY 2 multiplayer
A lot of questions have been raised on the forums about a hardcore mode feature. Today we are happy to confirm that you will be able to enjoy this new mode on all platforms with our next wave of patches.
The hardcore mode has been designed as an answer to a community request. When designing the multiplayer game our team wanted to provide a balanced experience for most gamers. However some players were seeking and expecting a more realistic experience.
The addition of a “hardcore” setting, available in every game mode, will have many consequences:
A new damage model will be applied with increased damage for all weapons.
All weapons have been rebalanced on normal mode, and on hardcore mode.
Enemy names will disappear after the spawning invincibility period is over (A shield is displayed above a player’s head for a few second to show that he is invincible).
A new option will allow you to tweak spawning time (but not spawning rate).
A new search option will be available in multiplayer to allow you to find games that are playing on hardcore mode.

Like the title said Splatterhouse got a new trailer but still no release date so if you like to stomp things in to little tiny bits and do it to hard rock instrumentals we may have just found your game.
I know that SEGA had a cut or two of this game but i recall playing this game on TurboGrafx-16 and thinking to myself that it had to be the bloodiest game ever, lets just hope it will be just as bloody by todays standards.
