"Rainbow Six Vegas" is the first Rainbow Six game on a next generation console. A stand alone story line sets this game apart from the older Rainbow Six games that were on the original Xbox and on the PC.
Overview
This game takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Terrorist organizations have begun to attack Vegas and you must stop them. You will travel to many different locations throughout Vegas including a casino, a dam and a hotel to name a few. This game is a great experience both offline and online.
 Gameplay - 10/10
This game has an amazing single player campaign. You can choose to battle terrorists by yourself or with a friend in co-op. The only problem with co-op is that you don't unlock the achievements as you play the story. If you want the achievements you will have to play through the campaign by yourself. The AI is not stupid in this game like it is in many shooters. If you don't get into cover you will die very quickly, especially on realistic difficulty. One great feature they added to this game over the older rainbow six games is the ability to hold L to get on walls. You are then able to use the left stick to peek around corners, allowing you to stay in cover and still shoot. Terrorist hunt is another great mode. In terrorist hunt you are put on a multiplayer map filled with AI controlled terrorists. The amount of terrorists spawned on the map is determined by the difficulty level. Terrorist hunt can be played by yourself, with a friend on local co-op or on xbox live.
Where this game really shines is in the multiplayer. You have a few different gametypes to choose from including survival, team survival, sharpshooter, team sharp shooter, and attack and defend. These gametypes are very diverse, so eveyone can find a gametype that suits them. The map selection is amazing, and they even brought back older maps like streets from Rainbox Six 3. The only complaint I have is that you cannot join a team sharpshooter game while it is in progress. You have to wait for the round to end (which can take up to 20 minutes depending on when you came in and how long the round time is) to be able to play. Other than this the online is flawless.
Graphics - 8/10
This game is nothing amazing like Gears of War, but the graphics do not lack. Lighting effects and shadows allow for great visuals. Grenades make things fly around the room, and leave marks on the ground and walls. Bullet holes appear when you shoot things, and can be seen on terrorists sometimes. Again not amazing but very solid for a game like this.
Sound - 9/10
Music is almost non existent in this game except for a few cut scenes. Terrorists yell at you when they see you. Your character grunts when wounded. All guns make their own respected sounds, as they would in real life. Grenades also make their respected sounds. The Voice overs were amazing I thought. The scripting and voice acting really sucked you into the game.
Overall - 9/10
If your a shooter fan or a player of the old Rainbow Six games you should pick this game up. It should be cheap these days. The online multiplayer and single player campaign should keep you going with this game for a long time. The only thing holding me back from a 10 was the lack of online co-op. One of my favorite things to with a campaign is get online and play with my friends. I could play with my friends at home, but I couldn't get the achievements. Overall amazing game, and buy it if you haven't gotten it already.
