Introduction
This article describes how to change your gamertag on an Xbox 360 console.
If you have an Xbox LIVE account, you can change your gamertag for 800 Microsoft Points.
Add a HQ to your gamertag

To change your Xbox LIVE gamertag
1. On your Xbox 360 console, go to My Xbox, and select your avatar (press the A button on the controller when your avatar is displayed).
2. Select Profile.
3. Select Edit Profile.
4. Select Gamertag.
5. Read the information, and then select Continue.
6. Make your changes, and then select Done.
Note: Make sure that your new gamertag has the spelling, spacing, and capitalization that you want. After you change your gamertag, you cannot make changes without using another 800 Microsoft Points.
If the gamertag you want is already in use, you can either select one of the suggested gamertags or press the B button to go back and enter another gamertag.
7. Confirm the change and the deduction of 800 Microsoft Points.
