I'm sure a lot of you have gotten the dreaded RROD and want to fix it without having to wait a month for Microsoft to fix it, or maybe you just want to prevent against getting the RROD, well then if you picked up the 360 RROD Fix this tutorial is a how-to for installing it.
This tutorial will assume you know how to open an Xbox 360, if not refer to this tutorial here
1) Remove the front Ring of light panel
A) Remove white panel
B) Remove 3 Screws (Torx 8)
C) Unplug the front ring of light board
2) Remove the top of the white shell (orange screws Torx 10 included in kit)
A) Remove the motherboard screws (green screws Torx 10, then red screws Torx 8)
3) Remove DVD Drive
A) Unplug Cables
B) Remove shiny sticker on the front
C) Pull DVD drive out
4) Remove fan & Fan Shroud
A) un-clip shroud from fan and remove
B) Unplug the fan power cord
B) gently pull the fan out
5) Remove motherboard from metal casing
A) Gently pull it out, be sure not to accidentally break any capacitors
6) Flip Motherboard Over
A) If your motherboard has white pads on the ram chips remove them, if not skip this step
B) Place Rubber Pads on the Ram chips
7) Place Motherboard back in casing
A) Put the 8 small black Torx 8 screws in first
B) Put the golden screws back into place with the Torx 10
C) Make sure all screws are tight but not overtightened
8) Replace fan & Shroud
A) Plug power cord in
B) Put fan in place
C) Put shroud back on
9) Replace DVD Drive
A) plug wires in where you unplugged them
B) Put DVD Drive back in place
10) Plug Ring of Light Board back in
A) Plug into slot
B) Screw 3 screws in
C) Clip white plastic back on
11) Put top of white case back on
A) Put top of case on
B) Screw in the 6 long Torx 10 screws
12) Re-assemble full case
13) If you have the RROD turn your xbox on and let it sit for 20 minutes to let the solder re-flow, after the 20 minutes has elapsed turn xbox off and let cool for 1 hour, If you don't have RROD skip this step
