well as the title says really, i connected my 360 drive to my pc via sata cable switched on my pc then went onto my computer then switched on my xbox 360 but my pc freezes when i switch on the 360 just wondering what im doing wrong? the pc works normal again after 360 is turned off btw

Well, can you tell us the following please?
What Xbox 360 DVD Rom Drive you have
What type of SATA bus are you using (is the bus on your motherboard, or on a PCI card)
What chipset does your SATA bus use

Yes,
The more info the better..
More then likely you may find your bus is not comptible..
Also try disabling all other drives inyour pc's bios..
Ive heard this causes some issues sometimes.
With it disabled it should work if that is the problem.

thanks guys, well its a TS 360 dvd drive, the sata ports are built into the motherboard and my motherboard is an ABIT KW7 series and the chipset is a VIA KT880

Alright, with TS Drives, you have to use a certain floppy (I'll PM you a link), start up your computer, with the Xbox360 Drive turned on, but the SATA cable disconnected, wait till your computer boots from the floppy to the A:/ Prompt, then plug it in and run the program command.

thanks traviss but stilll no luck i copied the files over to floppy and it loads correclty but when it loads and i turn on my 360 it doesent recognise the drive i left it for about 2 mins, and when i push a button on the keyboard the computer makes a beeping noise and just freezes and this is on dos mode.
any ideas guys
