So I'm in a slump here I think my laptop over heated because the led power flashed 3 times and wont boot on.

I have around $750 to get a replacement

SPPV shush about this, I'm seriously eyeing vaio laptops the seem to have everything I want.

SONY VAIO E Series SVE1513RCXB Notebook Intel Core i5 3230M(2.60GHz) 15.5" 4GB Memory 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD±R/RW AMD Radeon HD 7650M

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834127965

And as a bonus it has a backlit keyboard as well as a dedicated gpu.

So any nay or yays on this? Ill more then likely still go with it despite what I'm told. Smile

^^ that's easy 400 GBP budget there!
shop around for a better deal, 750$ is a lot to blow on a non-modular item!
a friend has a viao and i'm not too impressed with it's connectivity and specs!
sure it has hi-def and a large screen but he paid 300 GBP for his and the regret is seeping in, just like the time he blew half a K on an apple and the customer service is SO shit, he split it in two and cut his losses!
the toshiba laptops aren't too bad but for that kind of spunk money, i'd try for two (maybe three) pre-owned laptops! (serviced by qualified personnel naturally)
................
NAY! Mad 750$ is too frivolous for a piece of tech that's notorious for breakdowns/difficult to maintain! you could do better, maybe have what you want and more, shop around!
.........
that's my bit, you asked for honesty, you got it! Wink

That's one slow hard drive, the whole thing will be slow because of it. I won't touch drives with 5400 RPM, never! Why go for a Sony, there must be some better deals out there for that kind of money.

I suggest you do some more laptop hunting, you know, at least a few more hours or more of it.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?bop=And&Submit=Property&srchInDesc=intel%20core&N=100006740%204021&IsNodeId=1&PropertyCodeValue=2923%3a18470

Those really are my only choices and I wanted one with bluetooth enabled, I didn't see any of the satellites, the hdd could always be replaced so t hats no biggie.

I'm not too sure how wel gefore 640m or 730m runs I looked at benching and was pretty impressed with 7670.

730M is getting alright benchmarks but other then that nearly all laptops ships with 5400 rpm.

tried fixing the other one?

might be an easy fix and you could do something else with the money.

if the led flashes there is still hope.

Well, you could always upgrade the hard drive down the road too, otherwise the laptops you are looking are nice for the money.

I'd probably choose this laptop ( Acer Aspire V3-771G-6485) as it looks pretty pimped out for the money; Big RAM, big drive, nice CPU, descent GPU

Here's game play:

The Aspire V3-571G-6622 Notebook is about the same thing except smaller screen, less ram and smaller hard drive
