I was asking around a while again and read you need a 360 hdd transfer kit, anyone have a written tutorial of a safe way to drag bootlegged xbox 1 isos onto your 360 hdd? I have a slim.

^^ i've been looking into that but without much luck, i KNOW it can be done! (google...is SHIT on the search results...same appears to be the case with DUCKDUCKGO?!)
the reference was "xbox iso to GOD" format, but it was a while ago and the thread got nuked...guess where at?
in terms of a "bootleg" rom file, i'm guessing the console must be modded in some way for it to work...RETAIL disk played in the conventional manner should still work provided the game is compatible in the first place!
i found THIS wikishitia xbox original game to 360 compatibility list but you also know where i stand with mainstream information...PINCH OF SALT comes to mind!
the other way i'm thinking (in relation to god/XBLA files) is rebuild the iso into the native 360/GOD format in install/COPY to the place of setup on the 360 hdd via network or place on a FAT32 formatted usb device!
the xbox original games appear to be the equal to XBLA files...but i can't confirm that first hand!
will be watching this thread, can prove useful to the RGH/JTAG crowd?
(and x3key DEFINITELY has a shot with this)
all the best to a working solution! Wink

I heard it was possible on xk3y but I wasn't able to get it to work.

Of course it works on Xk3y but you need 1:1 copie of the xbox 1 game iso

The 1:1 copie is a DVD9, and you can test it with the mulleter

Guessing there isn't some uploads of common games in 1:1 format on torrent sites?

Wink of which is easy to tell apart from a rip/downsampled (POS) item!
.............
@ kennethk.
aside dump to the xbox procedure..(remembering to DISABLE the "auto-patch xbe" option in UNLEASHX before you copy the game to hdd, CRC reasons)

1, get the CLEAN NON-RUN game directory from the xbox via FTP using "c-xbox tool" and have it save the directory as an "xiso"..

2, get hkSFV then install it and create a hash (md5/sfv) of the xiso, it'll generate them after item scan!
3, open the generated hashes in a "text editor" and it's this numerical string EXAMPLE you'll need in view...(md5)
Code:
512dc1c75acc8330929331e949ef9226 *MAME v148 (UI extras - NO BINARY) [ZX81v2 package].7z
(sfv)
Code:
MAME v148 (UI extras - NO BINARY) [ZX81v2 package].7z 064672b2
Code:
md5 [512dc1c75acc8330929331e949ef9226]
Code:
sfv [064672b2]
(ignore the file suffix in the above examples, you can generate hashes for ANYTHING)

4, with the generated hashes OPEN in a text-editor, visit REDUMP to look for the hash in their database and compare the numbers...
if they're PERFECTLY aligned, it's a RETAIL 1/1 dump of the game!
REDUMP DON'T house a checksum database for "hacks, bootlegs or rips"...just 1/1 retail mirrors of the original disks!
(they maybe variations of the same game so be sure to check item ID and look for another hash, should be catalogued in column there anyway)

5, WORST CASE SCENARIO where the hash MISMATCHED against their catalogues,..
it could be a rip/bad dump OR the hash you seek may NOT exist there in the first place? (god knows i've a shitload of retail stuff that hasn't been catalogued yet) and in some cases, their hashes are submitted from users with differing dumping techniques..that PISSES me right off because there's NO info on the tools they used...AGAIN. i've made PERFECT mirrors that work as they should but my hash conflicts with theirs....(wtf is that all about?!)
..
the checksum database is ever growing and NOT every game disk (retails) has ever been listed...
............
apologies if this turned into a saga but i've ruled out many BS comments on my gear that stated "it's shit, dunt work" by comparing my dumps to the global database. (barring NO VERIFIES, foreign/non-standard dumps/methods)
you can check/verify the hashes on xiso's you got from anywhere...if the source is reliable, it's all the same as having the RETAIL image as an archive!
all the best!
(i can see "x3key" being a viable dump tool as it should "in theory" create an "iso" by default! the WODE creates "iso, cso, wbfs" as a choice on the hardmod UI before you dump the retail disk to a usb hdd...1/1 mirror style with all the updates intact or scrubbed of non-essential gamedatas! i always back my shit up in 1/1 retail fashion)
......................
so that's one way to tell if it's a 1/1 RETAIL image you have or a rip... Cool
sticky this post for the verify squads! Razz Cool Wink

that won't work, you need perfect copy like an xbox 360 game.

It needs to have the wave file all other security files from the original iso.

There are few private trackers that upload that. search the name of game and add in the end the word xbox360

^^ (for the xbox original game, not a 360 game) is the above related to "x3key" or "unleashx/dvd2xbox" dump methods?
.......
i understand about the security and the (possible) CDDA audio stream some xbox games have but what of the dumping methods?
i know of a pata/ide dvd writer for computers that can read "xiso" retail games, the kreyon drive (crayon as it's called in some parts) but they were IMPOSSIBLE for most to get as the numbers are limited...furthermore, surely all the xbox 1/1 TRUE retail dumps weren't just dumped through the above mentioned computer drive!
i've got a LOT of retail images from my own stash that was dumped via "unleashx/dvd2xbox"...disabling the "auto-patch xbe" in advance of course, don't wanna alter the original file structure!
..
so, at the risk of appearing confrontational (not my intention) and with all due respect, could you please elaborate on what "won't work"...old timer here having trouble understanding! Embarassed
thanks! Wink
[edit]....if you mean "rips won't work on the x3key but 1/1 retail dumps will"...i just thought of that now!
apologies for not seeing it sooner! (can't really tell who your post was directed at) Embarassed
