The Hauppage HD PVR allows you to record gameplay in any format you select: 1080p, 720p or 480p and it supports .M2TS, .TS (MPEG-2 TS Video) and MP4 codecsw with the included software.



Anyway, for anyone interested in capturing gameplay, I recommend a hauppage. Mine is the older one, but as you can see from my videos it's still top notch quality. The newer version supports HDMI. The YouTube video above was captured using my Hauppage HD PVR.. Smile Make sure you choose full 1080p or 720p.


Here is some information about the unit. I hope it helps someone decide what to go for.

Hauppage HD PVR: http://hauppage.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html
Hauppage Software: Total Media Extreme (included)

Available Codecs: .M2TS, .TS (MPEG-2 TS Video) or MP4

Total Media Extreme Settings using MP4 Output:

Video Input: YPrPb
Audio input: S/PDIF
PC Audio Mode: 5.1 Channels
Soure Resolution: 1920x1080 @ 30 frames per second
Max Bitrate: 9.0 Mbps (Constant) (i am updating this soon to play more)

Hauupage Default Settings 1080p Using MP4 Output:

Stream 0
- Type: Video
- Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) avc1
- Language: English
- Resolution: 1920x1080
- Frame rate: 29.970029
- Decoded format: Planar 4:2:0 YUV

Stream 1
- Type: Audio
- Codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)
- Launguage: English
- Channels: Stereo
- Sample rate: 480000 Hz


These settings are my current settings for most my newer videos on youtube at 1080p...
