i have a western digital 160 g hard drive in an enclosure formated to fat 32 but the xbox wont read it wtfs up

thats strange.. I personally havent toyed much with harddrives yet but i dont see why i wouldnt work as long as its formatted correctly..

let us know how you go..

any other tips guys??

I have tried USB sticks and MP3 players which are formatted to NTFS I belive

NTFS is what the xbox is looking for, ibelieve. But also remember, you will not be able to write to this drive. The USB ports are read only, so the most you can do is view what's already on there.

Lol, here i am...
I don't understand why the drive isn't being recognised by the 360. It should be considering that it's a FAT32 partition. The only thing i can recommend to you is copy the files off it to another drive and reformat it again as a FAT32 then copy the files back over and hopefully it'll work. Also make sure that you connect it to the usb port on the back of the 360, as i know for sure that port works for external storage, but i'm not so sure about the front ports.

Recently my Creative Zen Vision:M (mp3 player) seemed to stop working in the front USB's.
