Hey Everyone!

I am looking to aquire a capture card. Does anyone know where I can get a cheap one? I am super low on funds. Or better yet, anyone know where I can find a manual to build one?

Let me know. You can reply to this but a PM will work also.

ATI did have one that was super cheap. Im pretty sure it was ATI 710 capture-tuner card. Used to see them at the Futureshop here for like $40 last year. Im sure they could still be bought online

You can have my ATI card, Abrakadeadguy. I'll just send it to the address in the hosting billing. I'll take it out and PM you the model just in case you don't want it.

He needs a video capture device that will work with a laptop. External USB would work. He's looking for HDMI if possible. Saw some on Ebay, I think that's his best bet.

I use a hauppauge PVR for all my recording on 360-HQ.. It does not support HDMI unfortunately, but it's amazing quality.. Here is a sample of the quality:

They don't use your pc to encode the video, the box itself encodes the audio and video and just uses your PC for the storage.. You do however need to run the video capturing software. It connects to my laptop via USB but its pricey.

I have loads of older USB style ones but they are just crappy.

Really? Links please. Ive never seen an external USB capture with HDMI. Like 6 months ago I was asking about HD capture with HDMI pass through and couldnt find jack and ended up buying a Dazzle and a Roxio and they just use RGB with no pass through Mad

And to be honest the vids look kinda crappy, this is a 1080 vid yet to me looks more like 480p or 576p

My wording is was off, I did not mean I saw ones with HDMI. I should have reworded that.

Well, I've been spending the last 6 hours trying to figure out what the heck is going on. I've been adjusting everything to no effect. I started thinking the gamer cards might be the issue too.

It happens on lots of threads but some seem fine for some reason
