Does anybody know if i can solder a red, green, blue, and yellow LED together onto one resistor and solder it to the 5v power supply on the controller PCB board. Bare in mind that i also have 4 red LED's inside the X button in the controller's center. I wanna backlight the buttons but don't want to have 4 seperate resistors for them all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Pred

I think you would probably need to put the resistor in series then line the LEDs up in parralel to make it work. Check this website out: http://www.theledlight.com/ledcircuits.html

Now i'll be honest with you bro, i'm not the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to electrical wiring so am i right in saying that i'd basically have to solder a resistor to the 5v power output then run a wire along all the anodes and then also run a seperate wire along all the cathodes to the ground????
The last thing i want to do is blow myself up (a little hadr to do with a 5v power supplu, but you get my drift) Shocked

Thanks

Instead of the battery, you'll have the +/- of the 5v leads. Should be basically the same, just make sure that the resistor is in between the power and the first led on either side negative or positive. Then put all the anodes and cathodoes up on the same wire, the end of the wire should end with the last LED.

You could actually just hook up each anode and cathode together along with the power wire.

Wait before you order, this is assuming that you are using all the same color (each color pulls a different amperage). So either use all white LEDs or tell me what the amperage of the LEDs you will be using, then i'll tell you what resistors you'll need (if they are different colors, you'll have to attach a different resistor to each leg).

Well you could also see what LED needed the most resistance, and use that one according to the original plan, but the others wouldn't shine as bright. I think using white leds would be the best bet.

As long as they have the same specs you are good to go, I'm going to look those over, I'll post back if you shouldn't order.
