Well its finally out, updated a little while ago here and my first impressions are that its a pretty good update.
The multiple downloads and queue system work very well, although i found it to be a bit slow coming back to the Market Place when I added the download. But that might just be a network thing my end.
The downloads do not seem to effect gameplay what so every, which is nice and can be checked on/paused or stopped at anytime.
I really like the ability to switch on your console with a game already in the drive and not have to it start it up.
This one i'm not sure on, but have they added to ability to turn off the dashboard sounds? I really cannot remember seeing that option there before.
Another nice little touch is adding the Themes option to the systems page at last.. I thought it was crazy you can only access them from your Xbox button thingy.. ( I'm getting technical now ) The first time I turned on my 360 it took me ages to find them.
It also looks like they have added a random button for your music player.
Overall the Dash looks much more tidy than it did before. I've not tried to play a game online whilst downloading yet, one of you lot can try that one.

I would have to agree the update seems to be pretty good. It also shows the options to change the settings on the Live Vision camera so thats a good sign for coming out soon and the system actually being ready for it. I like how they have redesigned the sorting of the marketplace, it just makes it more tidy. I definitely like that. Now I could be wrong on this next part, but it looks like they have changed how things are sorted on Memory under the System blade. Different options and easier to maneuver. However, it could have been like this for a while, because I rarely go in there clean things up. So I'm really not sure on that one.
What I want though, is the fall update. It seems like there will be some good things, if the rumors are true. Its rumored there will be new blades added, like a direcTV blade where you could download TV shows and what not. Granted, most of that is rumor/speculation, but it would be cool.
yea the update is pretty good. i dont like the way the marketplace is set up though. _________________________________________________________ XBOX

i havnt turned on my xbox 360 but considering how the specs are they sound totaly better oviosly but i dont see that they mentioned say well like , you know how you can open up the cd tray to put a disc ? well say your watcing a dvd and dont have the remote control to press eject then you would have to get up and press open . as where i was hoping since you can open the tray when theirs no disc well i was thinking they would add the option to open it when their is a disc.

Something I noticed today is that you can now have 2 gamer pictures. You use one for general gaming that everybody sees and the new one only your friends see.

I think that has a lot to do with the new camera, so that you could take a picture of yourself, and use that one only friends could see. Which means that they probably aren't signed by Microsoft, and leaves possibility for custom ones from a PC to be made, maybe, I really don't know. I think the possibility is there though.
