Hey guys,

Been away from the forums for a quite a while now, feels good to be back.

I have the old 20 GB hard drive for my xbox, and am planning on upgrading to the 250GB hard drive, only thing is, I dont know if the hard drive transfer cable is available where i live. I wanted to know if there is any other way of transferring my save game data to the new hard drive, other than through the transfer cable method.

if there is a way please let me know, or id there is a tutorial of some sort that can show me how it can be done.

thanks guys

You could take the drive out the enclosure and connect it to the computer using the sata connection and then use xplorer360 to copy/write the drive data.

Alternatively, xecuter connectivity kit is another option.

hey thanks,

but i dont really want to take the risk of opening it up and transferring it through the computer, is it possible for me to copy the save game data on a USB stick and then transfer it back onto the new HDD?

You can do that i think. I remember there being a limit on the number of times you could do that per year, 3 it was i think. That may have only applied to xbox live downloaded content??? can't remember, but it will say on the xbox web site.

DLC is another story, that applies to the console and not the HardDrive (and it is 1 per year)

I think you can transfer gamesaves via USB if you format the USB drive for that use.

With the connectivity kit you dont have to open your HDD

maybe just backup your gamesaves to a USB drive or memory card and then re-download the DLC on your new hdd.. That's what i did.. I couldn't be stuffed with the transfer cables neither.
