It doesn't really do much. In my experience it caused more problems than it did good. If you really want to keep it cool you have to replace in the inner fans, but that voids your warranty.

The intercooler is a great solution for someone not wanting to void thier Xbox 360 warranty by opening up the unit and installing aftermarket fans. I have used them since day one and never had a problem with them...even the plastic plug kind never gave me troubles. If you play your 360 nonstop like I do increased airflow out of the unit is never a bad thing. So yeah anything that creates a suction that forces the heated air away from vital interior components and away from the unit is a good thing. Very Happy

I use one on my Elite but take it off every once in awhile, one thing you need to do is take a can of air and blow it out since dust will accumulate. Just make sure your XBOX is not inclosed or the vents blocked that should help.

When i repaired the first 360 i ever had (bought from ebay with RROD), I got an intercooler and it worked really well for me, i also cut a hole in the case for a fan though. Ran beautiful for a year then finally died last month, the xclamp repair doesn't work anymore on it.
