I was thinking about how the gamesave exploit works on the original xbox, or more specifically, how it is launched, which is in effect a string in a game profile eg. Linux profile in Splintercell which has been modified so instead of running a level, it runs an xbe instead. I'l admit at this point that this about my limit of understanding with softmods, if it works it works right? but anyway i got to thinking, what if that shortcut didnt lead to a softmod install menu? what if it could lead to ANY xbe, even a full game backup?
obviously this can not be done on a stock xbox without some work, either rebuilding the hdd with xboxhdm or ftp the image to a modded xbox, however, the 360's hard drive does not need to be modded to link it to a pc. obviously microsoft has all sorts of checks to prevent unsigned code being used but if the signiture is unbroken would the 360 allow it to be run? worth a test i think once my hdd transfer kit finally arrives, but if anyone beats me to it, let me know

Nah man Microsoft knows about the gamesave exploits and they patched those in later versions of the game, there's no way they would let it slip through and work on the 360 when they already made patches for the xbox. Anyways retail games are signed to be ran from xbox pressed dvds, nothing else, so putting them on you hard drive by itself invalidated the signature. _________________________________________________________
