This little glitch is a nice gem. It's almost better than the infinite gold cheat in that you can duplicate items that are worth large quantities of gold. What you have to do is equip any set of arrows and draw your bow back, and while the bow is drawn back, go into the inventory screen. Now, select the arrows you have equipped and it will give you the message Cannot switch weapons while attacking. Now, go to the item you want to duplicate and drop it and exit the inventory screen. When it goes back to the game multiples of the item you dropped will drop also.
I have noticed there are a few things that cause it not to work. You can't duplicate stolen items or quest items. Also, there can only be one of the item you want to duplicate, in your inventory. I thought it didn't work at first because I tried to duplicate health potions and it just didnt seem to work until I dropped all the ones I had, except one, and then tried it. You can build up gold very fast with this cheat or even get supplies you need no problem. I have not tried to duplicate anything like Nirnroot or Bloodgrass, so I'm not sure if it works for them, but I'll keep testing and checking to see what other items can/can't be duplicated.

I've played with this some this weekend, I use a slightly different method, I have 2 sets of arrows, i pull back the 1st set, then go into the inventory and swap to the 2nd set, and then hit A again and get the error you mentioned, then I drop any item I want and sometimes it duplicates and sometimes it doesn't, not sure what causes it to work sometimes though, because I can move locations and it will work. Where sometimes it won't work at all. At first it wouldn't work with enchanted items, but I got it to work with those. Also arrows seem to work better if it's just a single arrow, but it will work even if you have over 200 in a quiver. You can't drop quest items, so it won't work, I was going to have to give up the azura star so I quickly cloned one, and now I have a spare, not sure if you can get another any other way aside from this.

This is much better than the money glitch as you can find a weapon and sell it for however much gold that person has, and just keep repeating, you can also duplicate a bunch and then go and drop them, then use the move tool to move it the bundle (multiple items but just one inworld item) near the person, pick it up and then you will be over-burdened, then sell. I

Where I had originally found the tip said to use a second set of arrows, but it never worked for me with a second set of arrows, so I did the way I posted above, and it works everytime non-stop. Not sure why mine didn't work the other way, strange stuff.

Actually, you can duplicate items that have more than 1 in your inventory. I started with 2 strong health potions, and used regular steel arrows(5), then switched to elven arrows(15). then when I dropped the potion, it dropped both. When i press B, it duplicated the potions, but they had two potions for every one that was duplicated. It doesn't work for nirnroots though. It works for every other ingredient that you find. My favorite weapon is "APOTHEOSIS", which is bought at rindirs staff in the market district in the imperial city. I have over 500 total staffs. I just like to keep some lying around all over cyrodiil, just in case. It also works for varia stones as well. Hope this helps.
Also in the "Cure for Vampirism" quest you can also get infinite gold mfrom count hassildor. Once you finish the quest and he gives you your gold reward, just keep pressing "reward" and you will continously get the same gold amount for each time you click on reward.

I just tried it today and you can duplicate Sigil Stones. I thought that might be something people find interesting.

i just wanna thank you guys, this trick has greatly improved my characters quality of life. he has retired from heroing and now can afford to kick back on the beach with his favorite wenches and guzzle expensive bottles of wine all day. just kidding, but really this glitch seriously rocks... theres nothing like walking up to a shopkeeper and selling him a half-dozen magic amulets at 1000 each... i dont need a personality anymore, i can just bribe everyone that doesnt agree with me Very Happy

I've noticed that sometimes it doesn't allow me to dupe as many items as it used to. Does anyone know what might cause this? I'm really not sure if its just my game, but it used to make 7-9 of every item and now its like 3 or 4.

It is all based on the amount of arrows in your quiver. If you have 100 arrows then that is going to be the multiplier of how many of the original item dropped you come back with. So, you drop a potion of health, and have 100 arrows, then the item splits into 100 potions of health, then run around and gather your new goods Smile

Go up to around Bruma, and clone atleast 100 Flawless Pearls, it's fun watching the physics hahaha. It's especially fun to chase them (Caution: Only do this after saving, and make sure to have lots of health and acrobatics skills as you will get hurt chasing them, possibly die.)

I finally found a problem with this glitch. For some reason, don't know why so don't ask, my buddy thought it would be cool to dupe about 200 of the Apotheosis staffs, and that was fine and all, until I decided to go back into that particular cave area again, and it locks up. I was not the least bit happy about that. If anyone knows about a way to fix it I would greatly appreciate it. Just before someone says it, I don't like having a lot of gamesaves, so I clear them all out besides my newest one before I shut off my 360 so I can't go to an earlier setting.

Hmm, the only think I could think to do is to load up the game and just let it sit and wait, I'd let it set up to about 30 min or so, the 360 is powerful but that's a lot of number crunching it has to do when you go somewhere with tons of items.

Hey i was chattin to my mate grunt while he was toying with this glitch. Apparently however many arrows you have equippped that is how many items you will have duplicated. In Grunt's case he ended up with 43 empty grand soul gems, in one go!

Have any of you guys had this happen?

Yeah, I had about 200 arrows, I got the wizards tower, and got up near the top on the south side on the side of the mountaint, and cloned about 150 flawless pearls, that was a funny experience, let me tell you they get going very fast and bouncing really high the physics in this game is pretty amazing.

It has to be one of my favorite games for the 360, besides Ghost Recon and COD2. I was a bit leary about buying it, because I wasn't a big fan of Morrowind. I was surprised and happy with my purchase. On the item duplication, it actually served a purpose for me. I was going across level in one of the Oblivion Gates, and it seems I got stuck in a spot and wasn't able to move. The last save I had was about 20 minutes prior because I had turned off almost all of the autosaves, which I changed after that experience, and I didn't wanna restart. I was able to use my 300 arrows to duplicate an Elven Shortsword and used them to get out of the hole. Very interesting stuff.
