Hello,
I've searched for this answer all over the place and I can't find the answer anywhere. I would like to know which HDD is in the official 60gb and 120gb HDD from Microsoft. In your answer, please state the model number, and whether it is a HDD that was bundled with the console or purchased seperately.
Now, I know people flash and use the WD600BEVS and WD1200BEVS as cheap alternatives to the official product (and there's nothing wrong with doing that imo) but this information doesn't help me because I need to know the model number of the hard drives used in official Microsoft HDD's (unless these are the actual drives used in the "real" 60gb and 120gb HDD's)
And if anyone know's the answer to this question, I would be really surprised. How many platters does the 60gb and 120gb official HDD's have?
I know the 20 gig HDD's they made at the start of the Xbox 360's life were samsung drives. I don't know what they are now. _________________________________________________________

you could ask the guys in our hardware and case modding forums..
We have plenty of hardware gurus who have modded their hdd's and added lights.. Im sure they might have some input on it.. I think one of them did a clear case mod too for the hdd and the other guys did some lights etc.
I never pulled apart my hdd so far.. No need really!.
You cant upgrade larger then what M$ have locked down anyway. Sort of waste of time using HDD hacker or aftermarket unless you have a spare one lying around i suppose. _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:
