my laptops connected wireless and im using ics for my xbox but it wont validate ip address

Sounds like you may need to set your ip address to manual.
do a ipconfig /all in dos and let us know what all your info is.

ive tried that but it keeps saying that it cant use a static ip. ive tried everything on xbox.com for troubleshooting and still cant get it to work. i had it one time and i had to format pc and cant get it to connect anymore. i can listen to music and watch movies off my pc on 360 but no xbox live

so are you positive that ICS is turned on and sharing the internet?
If it is your PC ip address more then likely will be 192.168.0.1

do this on your pc.

1. Click Start Menu
2. Click run
3. Type in "cmd" without the "" and press enter
4. When the command prompt comes up type "ipconfig /all"

Thats it.. It will now show all your PC ip settings.. Check them out.. if your PC ip address is like i mentioned try setting your 360 to static.

eg. XBOX 360
IP: 192.168.0.10
SUBNET: 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1

DNS: Set same as PC
DNS: Set same as PC

done and done!

tried it but network adapter says local only and unidentified

ok.. Sounds like your network is running ok since you are getting some sort of video and audio sharing from your pc...

SO, its a DNS issue.

Lookup your PC info for DNS and try to set DNS manually for yoru xbox 360 so it matches your pc.

i got it figured out. all i had to do is bridge the wireless card and network card Very Happy
