Just kicking back reading through the HQ's and I just overheard on the local news that the PM is announcing 100mb internet for australia.. wow..

About f#@$ing time eh.. we have been stuck with ADSL1 (1.5mb) with limits like 15gb, 20gb per month for years.. ADSL2 is out but it still has limits.

This is good news for all us aussies!

Laughing

That is if the opposition let it go through.

They would be stupid not to do this. Yeah it would cost $48 Billion over 8 years but it is MAJOR infrastructure that Australia is desperate for.

Time for us to bite the bullet and spend the money on our future.

Heard Turnbull say that it would cost $200 a month.

I would pay that if it was unlimited, my phone was included (unlimited calls) and had tv coming down the pipe as well, similar to the UK and Europe.

It isnt just 100mb per sec, but has the potential to go however fast the ISP allows it.

Gotta love Fibre Optic.

Yeah Japan rules for their internet.

Every new house over there must have a fibre optic connection.

Goes to show that if a goverment is serious about something that anything can happen.

In OZ we have the world record fastest wireless broadband provider in the world 21 mps (telstra), but they are so expensive. Not bad for a dongle hanging out of your computer, but our wired internet is so freakin slow. I am on a wired adsl2 connection and the fastest I have reached is 10mps. Curently we are 19th in the world for our net speeds.

Our current prime minister is serious about getting Australia some serious speed on the net. He is a tech junkie and i reckon he gets the shits with having to wait for stuff to download. He is also pushing to make us have the fastest in the world.

Personally i think the PM's son has been complaining to his old man about how he is lagging in COD4 and COD5 when playing his xbox 360 online lmfao.. hehehhe

Good old ruddy is sick of his son complaining so now he's gonna roll out 100mb eh.. well fuck me..

lmfao... I wish the PM was my dad.

put it this way.. If this baby goes ahead.. Good luck to anyone in the world trying to play the hardcore gamers from HQ.. Instead of us getting the lag everyone else will.

Sorta like what we get when Japanese guys are online pwning in a room.
