How's this for bad luck.

I pre-ordered my GH: World tour back in oct/nov 2008 and i picked it up around the 10th of Nov, 2008 (release date in oz).. By December 10th i end up contacting RED OCTANE because of the sensitivity issues.

Now im a drummer and i know i'm not hitting the wrong friggen notes.. (ask djb).. Red Octane finally send this stupid sensitivity MIDI cable for free sent out and it made things a little better but still the kit was useless for someone who wants to play on EXPERT with double kick pedals. you gettin' me??

Anyway, to cut a long story short. Early Jan 2009 (new year) they suggest i return the full drumkit.. This took around 3-4 weeks.. by this time my kit is out of warranty nearly.

I get to play my new drumkit as it should be around February 2009. It was great for 4 weeks. Now, yesterday. 13th March. My kit is stuffed completely.. RED drum just don't work at all anymore. I call red octane and explained my situation and how it was in transit for most of the warranty period but it looks like i need to fix the dam thing myself.

I've found how to mod this mo' fo so ill let you all know how i go when i finally get some time to myself.

Heres a tutorial for anyone interested:

UPDATE:
just after the 90 day warranty period expired DJB who also pre-ordered the GHWT kit has the same problems.. If they don't get it sorted i will be recommending rock band drum sets from now on!

Sad it sucks don't it DJB!

I've never had a problem with my rock band 2 drum set. Maybe they just aren't made well or you have just gotten 2 duds in a row.

I would try to see if you could get your money back from the store to buy a new drum set only. They do just sell new drum sets by themselves right?

UPDATE
I called Red Octane Support in Australia and mentioned that i was in the middle of writing a hardware review on 360-HQ about their poorly manufactured GHWT drumkit.

The nice support lady on the other end has spoken with her manager and now has decided to help me out with my probs. Red Octane have just authorized my claim wooot. About time 360-HQ worked to my advantage eh. lol

If the drumkit works as it should i will be changing or re-writing my hardware review but if i have nothing but troubles again i will be suggesting everyone buy the ROCK BAND drumkit.

Ive had my RB drumkit for well over 12 months and its been thrashed.. Works fine still.

l8r guys,

hobbs

There is only a 90 day warranty period for all RED OCTANE hardware so get in fast guys..

Also, if anyone has a GHWT drumkit be sure to get your free USB Sensitivity cable which is MIDI compatible. Why not its FREE.

After 90 days runs out you can't get jack!
