Alright. Well i thought that this would be the perfect time for an interesting discussion about how crazy and desperate people get with their XBOX 360s. Ever surfed random forums or websites with guides, tutorials, or comments with the most outrageous "fixes"? Post links here!

And well, this can benefit newcommers by directly showing them exactly which guides and fixes and absolutely ridiculous. This can also determine which repairs the casual newcomer should and shouldn't do.

A one while back was from Yahoo Answers.

Towel trick and the freezing one and the water one are all stupid lol.

Ever hear about that kid that dipped his xbox in a tub of ice water to try to fix the RROD because he read it online or something. Then he ended up getting shocked and going to the hospital because it was still wet when he turned it on lol.

Id love to input..lol I have tonnes of pm's, emails and and IM's from people who do silly things to their 360's to get them working again and then they ask me if its ok.

1. FREEZING HARDDRIVES - Years ago people use to put their broken hdd's in the freezer for a few minutes (for god knows) so it would allow them sometimes to get some data back off the drive.

Tonnes of people did this to their xbox 360 hdd when it died and then they asked me if it was ok.. I just laughed..

2. TOWEL TRICK - When many guys and girls got the dreaded RROD due to soldier cracks on the board people started wrapping towels around their xbox 360 while it was on to cook the soldier again.. Now, sure this worked for a short period but any xbox 360 I got to fix who had did this the motherboards were warped and basically screwed..

just my 2 cents..

Haha. I feel bad now. The towel trick.... :sigh:
I did it once. But who knows in gods name how many times my friend used it :\

Ever heard of the on where you leave your 360 cooking outside for the whole day? Haha. I saw my neighbor leave his out for a week and surprisingly it worked ._. Dont know how though. His motherboard isnt warped either, what a lucky human being...
