My friend was telling me that his 360 was overheating every 5-10 minutes and was telling me he wanted me to make him a cooling fan. I told him that could work but It might be more beneficial if we opened it up and changed the thermal paste. He finally agreed to that, and well it was my first time opening a 360 and let me say it wasn't pleasant. Also the main air vents on the sides where the metal casing has holes, was coated in dust, no airflow could go in at all. We dusted it out, didn't change the thermal paste will find out how well it worked tomorrow.

That's funny because bad in the day when I was repairing main frame servers and network equipment, half the time the problem was loads of dust. Another 25 percent were easy fixes and the rest were real work like replacing chips and rewiring. He He Life was simpler back then.

here is a pic of mine when I opened it, I am a clean freak and have a good hepa filter in the AC unit. After about a year and a half it looked like pic below. though I do have it on alot. No matter how clean you are how long can you run your system before it does eventualy get clogged and ends up burning out your processor. maybe all the systems will burn out just in time for the next xbox system. I just keep mine open now so I can keep it clean all the time.
