I have read article after article about how great Bioshock was..game of the year..original score...best sound even. I have only recently purchased the 360 myself and havent even seen Bioshock played live.

I have two friends who own it. One got stuck and has absolutely nothing good to say about the game..says theres lots of back tracking. While my other friend could honestly care less he says its a fine play but quite overrated.

Question is.. is it worth it?

It is a different game. I wouldn't call it a bad game I would just say it is really different from your normal everyday shooter. What little I played of the demo was enough to convince me it wasn't my cup of tea. Would I buy it if it were 10 dollars or so? Yes. Would I pay 60 dollars for it? No. It is definetly a renter. Or if you can pick it up extremely cheap a buyer. Bioshock is the kinda game that you eithier love to death or don't. Just my opinion but that is what you asked for yes? Very Happy

Well said, Me I played the demo before the game came out and was hooked. It has one of the best story lines I've ever experienced in a game and its not a clone of an everyday shooter (counterstrike, halo, etc) I think the demo is enough to judge the game by, but if you are still unsure rent it!

Well I trust in peoples opnions on this website so i want to get some input about the game. Buying the game isnt a problem for me.. ill just borrow it from one of my friends. Beyond the story line is the actual game play and mechanics good? Is it a challeninging game? Did you play through the entire campaign?

I enjoyed it thoroughly to be honest DyePaintabll. I beat it in a week, and during that week that was the only thing in my xbox. I love the gameplay just as much as the story because they feel very polished. For example you get upgrades to you dna called tonics and they all feel really balanced, and there is a great sense of reward for exploring (weapon upgrades) I'd say if your into trying a new rpg type shooter go for it. If you have any other questions feel free to ask

Yeah well I used to really really enjoy RPG/PVP games back in my highschool days. I played a ton of Diablo II and WoW but I mainly played counter-strike. Ive never played and RPG on a console before but I wanted some actual players insight because Ive read nothing but positive reviews in magazines and on websites...

Is it more of an RPG/shooter..? Or RPG with minor shooting elements? Just an adventure where you can customize characters?

Haha, I'm not into hockey so thats alright.

And I really like bioshock a lot. I think of it as a FPS with a deep story and great art style with an RPG kick that works well. If your still wondering whether or not to get it, download the demo or rent it.

P.S. The water in this game is the most realistic I've ever seen (they even had an artist specific to water haha)
