The multiplayer playlists in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare are always evolving based on community feedback and stats we track behind the scenes. We're focused on constantly keeping the game fresh and tweaking it based on your feedback, so expect the following Playlist changes to be hitting soon:

Team Deathmatch

* Map Added to Rotation: Showdown - now available in map rotation.

Mercenary Team Deathmatch

* Brand New Playlists: No Clans / Parties allowed.
* Players who don't want to be matchmade with clans (or people in parties) can team up with fellow lone wolves and play some TDM.

Free-for-All

* Map Added to Rotation: Showdown - now available in map rotation.
* Score Limit Change: 100 Points

Domination

* Map Added to Rotation: Ambush - now available in map rotation.
* Map Added to Rotation: Bloc- now available in map rotation.
* Map Added to Rotation: Pipeline - now availalbe in map rotation.

Ground War

* No changes.

Sabatoge

Upcoming Patch Updates (Seperate from above Playlist changes):

Addition of Host Migration

* If Host of lobby leaves, all players will be deposited back to the lobby where next best host will be selected before new game restarts. Players will no longer be kicked out of game entirely.

Improved Network Performance For Larger Games

* 18 player games now require more bandwidth to host, resulting in smoother performance for players.

Optimized Server Selection for First Match

* Server selection is now optimized to select best bandwidth servers associated by LSP.

Updated Spectator "Chase Cam"

* Change Spectator Mode: Switch between First Person and Third Person.
* 360 Degree rotation around character you're spectating.

Fixed "Playlist Older Than Host" Error

* Player will no longer get error when entering games.

Optimized Corrupt Create-a-Class Handling

* Players will no longer be kicked from game when their create-a-class data is corrupted.

Added Kill Cam To Everything

* Kill Cam view Added: Air Strike Bombs (Follows bomb from plane to target)
* Kill Cam view Added: Grenades (Follows frag from hand to ground, then rotates to view target)
* Kill Cam view Added: RPGs (Follows RPG from launch to target)
* Kill Cam view Added: M203 Rounds (Follows round from launcher to target)
* Kill Cam view Added: Claymores (Views from behind claymore until explosion)
* Kill Cam view Added: C4 Packs (View from pack rotating to watch target)
* Kill Cam view Added: Martrdom (View from grenade rotating to watch target)

Optimized Old School Experience

* Added Unlimited Sprint
* Doubled Magazine Size
* Added Ragdoll Cam

Additional Start Spawn Locations in All Maps

* Added a minimum of 9 extra start spawns on each side of all maps.

Optimized Sniper Rifle / ACOG Scope Accuracy

* Sniper Rifles and ACOG scope accuracy improved due to fix.

Fixed Weapon Sprint Bug

* Bug which gave players more sprint when using particular weapons.



I can confirm that this patch is available on xbox live. I only had time to play 1 round and let me say the new ACOG scope is way better and the kill cams on everything is a godsend. Maybe someone will write up a story on this today? I would but I have school right now

yea the sniper rifles are beasts now i use the 50 cal and man one shoot anywhere you dead lol its pretty fun now wit snipers.

Yeah great fix the 50.cal sniper rifle and mess everything else up! I kept on telling people stop whining sure it has a couple flaws but cod4 multiplayer is almost perfection. Nope people got a keep on sniveling and whining that there 50.cal sniper gun has some kick on it. Its a 50.cal sniper rifle idiots!!!! So now multiple people are having problems keeping connected to a game and the on screen action is slow and laggy. Also you can throw a grenade and it will kill someone that is 40 feet away from it. And the original were going to fix it to where if the host leaves the game doesnt end is actually worse then it was before. I kept on telling people that if it aint broke dont try to fix perfection. But no they had to try and the multiplayer team deathmatch experience is now officially screwed. But hey the 50 cal sniper rifle works better right??? Mad

LMFAO yeah I still play the hell out of it. Twisted Evil I take my mad out on anyone that is on the other team!!!! Lag was pretty bad but it was amusingly bad. I would run around the corner and the other team would be frozen like they were running in jello!!!! I was just going around knifing all the other team that were frozen.They were pissed! LMFAO! Laughing I just can't wait until you can play some cod4 with us Wes! We usually laugh so hard during the matches because of the crazy stuff we try. Like running around with a shotgun the whole entire game! The funny of it is that you usually end up getting the most kills with the damn thing! And the thing is brutally loud! You can hear it all the way across the map! Its hilarious! Laughing

I palyed last night, not playing serious just screwing arround using the RPG to try and give some people some cool kill cams. Thats why I was getting like 6 kills and 12 deaths.

Anyway. About the update...

The grenade and RPG kill cams are cool but I rarly play on regular deathmatch, I prefer hardcore so the new kill cams dont realy mean anything to me.

The host migration is not what I expected and hoped for, I thought if the host leaves the map rotation would continue on its set order uninterupted but it is just like before only keeps same people together. If you are in a party you stay together anyway. As for people I just meet up with in a game, i dont tend to get too emotionaly attached to anyone anyway.

Now the fix they said they were fixing on the snipers was the one where the bullets dont register.
I was playing a bit today and that was happening alot. I get a bead dead center of a guys face that is just crouched in a corner, perfect slug to the nose shot with breath hold on and steady as a stone. I fire the shot and nothing! 2 more shots....Nothing, no registration of a hit. a fourth shot and ding, head shot. I notice this quite a bit today and in different rooms. I didnt even realy notice it before the update much.
So rather than being fixed it seems worse to me. as for the 50 cal. I have not tried that since the update.
What exactly is suposed to be better about it? is it less recoil or less breath movement? Right now I am working on my M21 and Dragonov, and often feel like I am shooting blanks. And yes I too have noticed more laggy games than previously.

The only thing I realy liked was when i played some regular deathmatch last night and killed a guy that had mayrterdom, and I got killed, my kill cam actualy shows me killing the guy before I die.
