This is a trick to fix the 3 red light problem, it will get most systems up and running again in under an hour.
this may be old news to some of you but I just discovered it, so for those of you that have not seen it yet here it is.

Better option would be to put it in the oven at gas mark 5 for 30 mins and then leave too cool for 3 hours Laughing

Don't bother with this trick, it has been discussed many times before, you will only end up doing more harm than good.

Better to pay someone £50 to resolder the points and then install an xcm add on fan and whisper fan, although it will sound like a jet fighter afterwards. That may not even be the reason for the rrod is for in the first place.

Well i would say that the X clamp fix is the way to go, i have now fixed seven 360 this way. it cost about 50 cents each in parts and all are working great..........

I even did mine to stop it getting RROD, cos it was some times having glitches and funny colors on the screen, that also has now been fixed and the colors have stopped and seems to be faster too..... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

X-clamp fix should work great. If you want to make sure the xbox never breaks/never breaks again get the chips reballed, put the x-clamp on, put the tallismoon whisper fans in and add arctic silver 5 thermal paste. Almost fool proof.

Has anyone tried the fix of cutting of a blade from a heatsink and then putting it in between the chip and heatsink on the 360?

I saw it somewhere, can't remember where.

At least one good thing may come from all the broken 360's, im sure the next version ( suspected to happen somewhere between 2010 and 2012 ) will not have any over heating problems or bad solder problems. Im sure the MS tech guys will make sure this head ache never happens again. With out the heating problem, I dont think people would have much negative to say about the 360. Other than that the only complaints I have are pretty minor, such as MS charging for just about everything but that is to be expected, also I would like to be able to make my own gamer pics and dashboard theme to be used on my profile rather than having to use a MS approved pic, most of which you need to pay for. But like I said, minor stuff.
I cant wait to see what kind of system MS comes up with next.

I haven't seen that, but I have seen someone use tin foil to place over top half the heat sink, kind of an extender to the fan duct. Not MS standards though, they would use plastic wrap.

It pisses me off that i have to pay $100 a year to be part of the xna club so i can play my games on my 360. And thats on top of the $50 im already paying for xbox live.
