Okay well if you have opened it and there is no way you can return it too microsoft then there is a trick that will fix it that you will have to do periodically to keep it running. What you want to do is keep the power plug in the 360 and remove the video cord and hard drive. Then you get 3 towels. You then turn on your 360 and wrap it entirely with the first towel and then wrap it again with the second towel and lastly wrap it again with the 3rd towel. Let your 360 run for about 25 minutes wrapped up like that and then take it out of the towels and turn it off for 1 hour. Touch it after one hour and make sure it is cool and then replace the hard drive and video cord and turn it on. It should work normally for 4-5 days and then it will probably rrod on you again but this is a short term fix. Basically what you are doing is making the 360 overheat and resolder itself. I have seen countless friends do this and it works. Hope this helps! Very Happy

What I would do is call microsoft and towel trick it until you get the box so you can play, then hope you get the 3rod soon so you can send it away, then wait for your new one. My friend did the same thing when his xbox died

Yes exactly. I just didn't know if he had opened it and thus canceled his warranty. But yeah the first time my friend did that towel trick I was like there is no way that is going to work dude. Sure enough after it cooled down he hooked that bad boy up and it fired up just as pretty as could be.It is only a temp fix thought it lasted about 5 days and he had to redo it.

I'd recommend going with the x-clamp method, ONLY IF YOUR WARRANTY IS ALREADY UP OR VOID, unless that dont matter to you..

Hypo, DO NOT DO THE TOWEL TRICK, it is known to work temp. but will then screw up later, the best thing to do is the x-clamp rep. if you have already voided the warranty, which I don't think you have.

Yeah if you have no warranty then I would go with the X clamp rep as well. I had the 3 red lights on both of my 360s and it fixed them and I have had no problems to this day. I did them about 7 months ago.

Your all so lucky, x-clamp fix only fixed my old xbox for 3 weeks and it broke again.
