Ok, I was playing some GHII last night for about 7-8 hours straight through, and suddenly the 360 shut it's self off and popped up the 3 red light on my 360.

I never seen a 360 turn it's self off, mostly I seen it would freeze then when you turn it back on you would get the 3 red lights. But I turned it back on and everything seems to be working. I played it maybe anther 2-3 hours to test it and nothing happened, no freezing, no 3 red lights.

And I did do a X-Clamp replacements on it a few months back. And I been using one of the nyko inter coolers since I owned it, but it's one the second shipments they made from all the previous 1 shipments were melting into the psu connectors. Any Help on what should I do next? Could it just be that my 360 was overheating a little to much and just shut it off by it's self to cool down? Thanks,

Jbrizzel

Is it possible that the power may have just flickered just a bit? As that has happened to me a few times, where I'll be playing, and the power may just slight dip, and the 360 will cut off and nothing else will, not even the clocks will lose time, however right away the 360 shows 3ROL but It turns right back fine.

It might of, or at least I hope it did. It just totally cut off out of no where. But I turned it back on and everything seemed ok, it just spooked me because I did the x-clamp rep. on it and would never think it would do anything like that. But hopefully it did flicker the psu leading to it to turn off by it's self.

when u have the 360 on. try moving a little the power and the intercooler. just nudged a little . my intercooler connector it burn out too and i have to keep it at a angle for it to work. if i move it and shuts off and the 360 gives me the 3red lights

just try it to see if is a power problem and not the overehating.

Ok Nikon I will check and tinker with it. Joho, the x-clamp rep. is quite simple. Check your inbox Joho for the tut. (endless) sent it to me, and it's a quite and simple good guide written together.

How long the x-clamp fix been working for you JB? I just did mine tonight and its working again, but it had minor video lagg sometimes. Like the sound of the game still worked, but the video of the game would freeze for a second or 2, then catch back up.

X-clamp fix is easy, but it gets annoying because the screws keep falling out.

so if i do the xclamp replacement and replace the clamps with the machine bolts and washers, but my system hasnt had the 3 rings problem, and im only doing it for future prevention...i skip the part where you let the system overheat...correct?

this is a stupid question, but i thought id ask.
