Welcome to the site, you can find anything and everything related to the Xbox 360 here. We have an active community and friendly non flamatory forums. Follow this guide, and you will be setup ready to go without having to ask one question in the forums as how to do it.
You have two profiles on Hq, first you have your site profile. This is the main profile, and it is full of many options. Browse threw the options and familiarize yourself with them.
The second profile is for the forums. You can edit a few options here, pertaining to the forums, you can change your signature, add messenger contacts, email info, add an avatar. You can find your forum profile here.
Now that you know where your profiles are, lets go ahead and setup the few things needed to interact with other members.
The first thing that should be done, is to add your gamer tag to the site. This allows others to see what games you have, and allow them to add you to their friends list. So go ahead and go to your site profile, and go to the Xbox Live tab, then add/edit gamertag. Simply add your gamertag, and save changes. Now whenever you post or add content to the site, it will display your gamertag to other members.
Now lets go ahead and add a signature to your forum posts, and add an avatar. You can place anything your heart desires in your signature, but the one thing most people have is a banner with what games they have, when they played last. You can create one by going to www.livecard.net. On their main page you will see a box, enter your gamertag in there and push >. Now you will see a preview of your gamertag on the top, go ahead and go threw all the different styles, until you find one that suits your tastes.
Copy the bbcode, go to your forum profile, and add this to your signature, click save. You will be testing this out shortly.
Now if you have an avatar that you like, you will add it now. At the bottom of your forum profile, you will see the avatar control panel. If the avatar is on your computer, go ahead and find it via the browse button, if its on the web, enter the url in. It can only be 110 pixels high and 110 pixels wide, being no larger then 160k in size.
Now that you have your gamertag, signature, and an avatar you are well on your way.
Now its time to add your name to our 360-Hq gamertags thread, which can be found here. Go ahead an add the names you'd like and post your name so that it may be added. Now go ahead and introduce yourself here.
If you follow these steps you will be ahead of the game before your first post.
