From what I know, You can share movies, Audio, Photos, and stream live TV, Or watch recorded TV from your PC. The other thing I recall is you cannot save any of the data from MC to your 360. (Bummer) If your able to run media center on your xbox would it be possible to maybe connect to your pc and from your pc piggyback off the inbound connection to the 360? To maybe see the file structure or system and maybe find a way to unmask that ttriple core super secret monster. LoL I dunno sorry I just started day dreaming. Back to MCXP, You can have up to 5 XBoX360's connected to a single computer. It's not recommended to run wireless on both ends for live tv Etc. (It didn't work for me, Had crappy signals) Im planning on upgrading a few things to get it working at it's best.

MCE is pretty much XP Pro, it just depends on which serial
# you put in. With THAT said, if you use MCE, you have to
be careful what Tuner card you use if you will be using it
as a PVR ( Tivo or Replay clone ) There are a lot of issues
with that sort of thing. I have an ATI HDwonder, works
great in my PC, but, had issues on my MCE. I just purchased
a program called Beyond TV for it and now everything
seems to be working fine. Before you decide to switch,
check all your hardware.
As far as the MCE and the 360, I have had NO issues
between them, I can even view High Def TV on my
360 coming from my MCE, and, my MCE is wireless.
No MP4 though Sad
Hope this helps

Ed

I started to play with MCE last month. I had one original XBox as a client and it was pretty damn cool, the live or recorded TV worked great. XBMC is way better (in my opinion so far anyway) for mp3's and such.

I found that the PC I used for for MCE2005 was not up to multiple tasks at once. Such as watching one channel and recording another. It was an XP1800 w/512Megs RAM and a 7200rpm HD. I will be taking one of my other faster PC's and making it into an MCE box, I will have this done in the next couple weeks. I have 2 old xbox's, and of course I plan on getting a 360 too. Now that I found that activation crack for the client software for the xbox I don't have to worry about how many times I install this puppy.

And as for limits, MCE2005 is XP Pro, but they removed the ability to join a domain. To most this will not be a big deal, and to others there is a way around it. However, from what I understand this was done to enable the MCE extenders, apperently you require fast user switching for it to work (which is not avialable when your XP is part of a domain). Other then that it is not locked down.

Anyway, I am really tired, so it will be sheer luck if what I just posted is coherent and readable. Hope it helps though.
