Hey,
So i modded a xbox controller breakoff to USB and was HOPING to use the original xbox controller on the 360. I plugged the controller into the computer and it recognized it. Then I went to go plug it into my 360. Sad and it didnt work. Anyone got an idea on how to get this to work??? Or if its possible? I was thinking that maybe the 360 controller has some weird firmware. Think its possible to plug a 360 controller into a PC and grab the firmware somehow? I'm just throwing ideas out there. What you guys think?

not yet.. Its pretty quite today due to turkey day.. lol.. hehehhehe so funny..
anyway, im sure it can be done.. Personally to do it i would open a corded (not cordless) 360 joypad and your old xbox joypad and compare.. It could be something so simple but then again they could have redesigned the entire thing (which i doubt).

havent checked her out myself.

talk l8r and good luck with it..

Well i've done that. The wires areall the same coming from the controller. worst comes to worst ... I'm gonna buy a wired controller gut it, and put in an old controller case lol. HOWEVER I would like to work on this software conversion and see if it can be done that way. I mean everyone on xbox scene has already given up, but then again they suck Wink

There might be some sort of software recognition system within the 360:

So your wondering why I say this......well here is an experiment you can try if you have two "corded" controllers.

So I had two controllers plug into the two usb ports in the front of the xbox. Lets assume controller(1) is plugged into port 1 and controller(2) is in port 2. During a game pause and try to switch the xbox controllers so now port 1 controller is in port 2 and vice versa. The xbox will not allow you to continue and will tell you to plug controller 1 back in......It captures the ID off the controller or something once you are in a game......weird huh.....I know with the regular xbox you could swap controllers at anytime.

yeah something like that. but only with a computer. see theres a driver disk that supposedly comes with wired controllers so you can use them on computers. well i want to install that driver and see if i can look at whatever i can IN the device (the controller), and see if its possible to grab the firmware on it. Then put that firmware on a xbox1 controller. if none of this works, a 360 controller is getting gutted and put into a big controller, cause im an american with big hands!!!!!!!!!

Yea that would be tight if you could get the firmware on the original xbox controller....for people who like the duke or dont feel like 40 is worth a controller!
