That's that's it. They way they are generating and using your data to create a cloud version of U. This video is a small start to something truly great. This is what I mean at it's simplest form. I don't explain things that great but I see this developing to huge worlds maybe streaming worlds or using the cloud to do more intensive work to free up the console even more.

Maybe my vision is to too far ahead of what it can be now even with the xbox one cloud, I have no idea, still Microsoft is no stupid company and would not spend billions on these cloud servers if they didn't have some big plan or some ace up their sleeve. Well now I can only speculate as no ones really knows the potential here. We can only wait and see.

cloud wont help games all too much unless its stat based like nfl etc, but most people dont obsess over games that much, its not going to make the game look better its certainly not going to react better, but the less the cpu has to do the more it has time to do, i guess it will make gaming more random so they dont get boring so fast, download alternate maps, but people depend on the familiar for everything.

what gets you so excited about the cloud tweaked?

ive set up cloud based remote desktop apps a few years ago desktop publishing on html based interfaces like yahoo mail and google docs.

whats coming that has you so excited when it comes to cloud gaming?

The Cloud provides infinity possibilities.

Specially in games like Sparks

How has the Playstation copied Microsoft, Tweaked? The PS2 had an adapter that allowed for a hard drive to be installed long before the Xbox came out. The PS2 also had the ability to play games online. Were these features as popular as they were on Xbox? No, because they were optional pieces of hardware. But that doesn't mean that Sony copied anything by putting the hard drive and the network card inside of the PS3.

You also mentioned that Sony was copying Microsoft's cloud functions and their console design. Considering we didn't even know anything about the Xbox One until three weeks ago, I really doubt that Sony would make an entire console design AND throw together a cloud idea in three weeks. Sony's been designing the PS4 for years now I'm sure, so both the cloud and the console design probably have been in the works for quite a while. It just so happened that both Sony and Microsoft had similar ideas.

By your definition of copying stated earlier in this thread, the Xbox One would be copying Sony by using Blu-Ray disks. The PS3 used them first, and now the Xbox One is using them, so Microsoft must have copied Sony according to what you were saying earlier in the thread. In reality, this is just progress. Blu-Ray is the standard disk based media for storing large amounts of information currently. Either Microsoft used Blu-Ray in the Xbox One, or they would be shipping 3 disk games like they were on the Xbox 360.

And to be quite honest, I don't see all of the "innovation" you keep talking about. I can already flip over to HDMI port 1 on my TV to watch TV. If Kinect 2 is anything like Kinect 1, it will be a huge flop. I wouldn't really call forcing you to register your games with Microsoft an innovation either. Maybe the only innovative thing they have going for them is the ability to stream directly to Twitch.TV.

In reality, Microsoft is just being anti-consumerist with the Xbox One. Microsoft wants to be able to tell you how you're going to use your console. You don't have any interest in Kinect? Well too bad, it comes with every console (which jacks the price up) and it must be plugged in for the console to function. You don't have internet and want to play games offline? Well, too bad. You have to have an internet connection just to play your games. You want to lend a friend a game? You better have had him on your friends list for more than 30 days.

You want to watch Netflix? Well, you need Xbox Live Gold to do that. You want to sell your Xbox One game to a mom and pop store? Well, too bad, because they probably won't be a Microsoft verified retailer. You want to rent a game? Good luck, because that hasn't been confirmed yet. It's still a "possibility". Maybe you don't want to install a game to your hard drive because you're running out of space and don't want to buy a new hard drive? Again, too bad, you have to install the game to your hard drive. Maybe you live in Europe and a new NCAA game comes out in North America only. You aren't going to be able to play that game because the Xbox One is region locked.

You're entitled to buy whatever console you want Tweaked, but saying that Microsoft is innovating and creating an amazing console is just plain odd to me. Everything that Microsoft has revealed so far has been to the benefit of their investors. You shouldn't have to have the Kinect connected to the console for you to play non-Kinect games. You shouldn't have to have an internet connection for the console to work if you only play offline games. You shouldn't have to install games to your hard drive unless you want to. You should be able to upgrade your hard drive to any size that you want. You should be able to buy games from other regions. You should be able to watch Netflix without having Xbox Live Gold (like you can on the PS4).

Sony and Nintendo are looking out for the consumer. You know Microsoft screwed up when E3 exploded in applause because Sony said that the Playstation will keep doing the same thing that every other game console created has done. I can't even remember a time where people were so excited that nothing was being changed.

I can tell you two things though: My Grandpa won't be buying an Xbox One because he doesn't have internet. He currently loves his Xbox 360, but he won't get internet for the Xbox One. He wants nothing to do with the Internet. Also, if the Xbox One sells well this generation for whatever reason, all gaming consoles in the future will most likely have similar restrictions. If Microsoft can get away with it, then anyone can. It's in everyone's best interest to vote with your wallet and buy a console that's in it for the consumer, and not in it for the investors of the company.

dartht33bagger I read your entire post. I must say I agree with most of it.

But let me point that in ps4 you also have to install the game on HDD (it's future, games need reading speeds higher than what a driver can offer.)

I still think the cloud gaming is a great innovation and that Sony hasn't offer any great innovations since the eye toy and dual shock.

However them seem to be smarter by looking for what consumers want. Microsoft is being too capitalist by making all those restrictions. Like my brother constantly moving around because of the nature of his job will have to buy a ps4 since Internet is system requirement for XboxOne.

I think Xbox One has better content with Xbox Live, better controller and all those exclusives however I am still thinking of which console I will buy since PS4 costs 100€ less and has no restrictions. Plus it's region free

Cloud computing can definitely enhance nearly everything but there's no getting around needing a good internet connection. I'm well aware of what the cloud can do I build these things, work with them and tweak them.

In certain games they could compile chunks of code on the fly and feed directly to the console CPU and GPU saving lots of system bus load. I do this sort thing all the time working with a partner that is building a much smaller cloud compute system with 40 servers that serves applications to web servers so the individual web servers only deal with basic html. It works and it is the reason large companies run on these systems.

I'm talking hosting that clients pay $400 to $4000+ a month for as compared to what tweaked currently offers at prices like $4 to $10 a month. The more more I work with this stuff the more I see that gaming, applications and web code are rather similar. Gaming can unquestionably be benefited in such a way that a console can do a much higher level of power than it's own hardware.

If I had the capital I'd move all of Tweaked offerings to cloud enterprise services and offer them. Cloud computing is no joke and vast. I'm been working on a version of this for over 3 years for tweaked, I just can't afford the servers. Crying or Very sad

As far as what console people are going with or if they just use PCs in stead for gaming, I'm going with the xbox one as I feel their vision. Who knows I could be wrong but so what I'm still going to get the games I like with xbox one.

It also seems odd to me that Microsoft would implement a 24 authentication period after the PSN month long down time a few years ago. Think of how that situation would have gone down if the PS3 was unusable for a month because PSN was down.
