it will hurt them i doubt it will be the case, this would kill the xbox, m$ is the king of drm, and draconian eula, it never turns out good.
i cant see one going with always online and one (ps4) not, it would be a deal breaker, the saying is right though, deal with it, my problem is not the online part as my server is up 24/7 my internet is too. my problem is the bullying, the lack of customer option,
they do it everytime, they think they know what the customer needs and requires and the majority says f-off m$ they backtrack and give in if enough people complain. and i never do well with authority.
hopefully it gets hacked right away and hackers spoof the data needed to go online and offline.
this online thing is for one reason only!
to spot the mods/hacks and ban those machines, if you mod the 720 you brick it. it wont start without online and any mods will be found out in 3 minutes, bye bye mods and hacks community, imagine testing hacks if every time you start it you could brick a machine?
imagine if you altered the engine in your car with a modification and it wouldnt start ever again, if it happens the xbox 720 will kill future generations of xbox.
Sony will be rubbing their hands at this DealWithIt-ware rumor.

Internet only is horse-shit. They may do it, but considering MS trackrecord it will issue key based on a panzy (WW2 France panzy) algorythym, which will be hacked on day 2 or 3 and a XBCesque app will be released. One day they will see tat the word LOSER has been stamped on their forehead for a reason
