I think it would be bad, like you said, some people will make live unplayable by using mods, look what happened with the PS network.

Right now you can only play homebrew, but it won't be long before someone enables all the features of the Jtag systems, ie freestyle dash.

I'll be honest, the chances of them patching this exploit are low due to the fact that they used the fact that they can control the CPU frequency which is how they hacked the console in the first place.

Microsoft just has to do some security updates of some sort to get a new encryption type that checks the console BEFORE it establishes a stable connection to the live server.

My only interest in it being able to pass any XBL checks, pass as a virgin 360, is because that would remove the last stumbling block to true dev for the 360. As it stands now if what is being said is accurate and short of releasing a new 360 edition MS cant do crap to stop it then we are on the cusp of something akin to the release of NKPatcher and Shadow C for the original XBOX. Ive stayed away from juicing 360's because of how unfriendly they are to homebrew and stuck with OG XBOX and Wii, but if I can do something even close to that on the 360 I'll be buying them up like hot cakes.

I agree it will bring some douche bags outa the wood work who like to cheat or pirate games but I see it as a small price to pay if I can get total freedom on my 360.

Me and you both! The more I read about it, the more easy it sounds... At first I thought it was near impossible, now that I do some more reading doesn't seem too hard!

LF hit it on the head, this is not a true timing attack on the system, but a glitch on the base kernal of the system. If it's doing slims, then until M$ releases a new base kernel on their systems, this will run for a very long time. But I would think that now they can do a timing attack on the system, but the way the PS3 and PSN went, it's best to leave alone. We never really needed the full identity key on the old xbox so why would we need it now. Between this and the ODD adapter (on linux) it has defeated all boot problems of any homebrew needed. No special SS key needed Smile
