It's not safe to take update or re-flash to LT 1 ...neither are confimred yet by c4eva, from #fw and many others, update could have new flags etc, and we don't know those, it's advisable to tell everyone not to accept the update...

If they do update, they MUST flash back to STOCK (playign with fire not converting to stock first) first then accept update. AFter that wait for New Firmware period! LT was designed to emulate the "orginal stock drive" it's not original anymore it's a new stock firmware hence LT+ not emulating the right FW. It's very adviseable to just wait it out.

It's all cause of: XGD3 format, LT+1 does not emulate that FW.

http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65152

For many weeks a dedicated team has been hard at work in preparation for the release of the new dash which started to roll out today (2.0.13146).

Although we have publicly quiet in recent weeks, work has been ferocious with a large group of talented, and very well known scene individuals, busting their asses to make sure that the work of the 360 scene keeps on rolling.

So now that the rollout has started, the team can actually start to implement much of the work into releases for public consumption.

Here are some things of note so you have a clue of what's coming: After the update the drive fw is also updated with a new stock fw, rendering the drive unable to play backups (for now). When the drives are flashed back again with LT fw the previous AP2.5 patched titles are no longer booting (expected and will be updated with new XBC and 0800)

It seems that the first update has only been sent to Liteon DG-16D2S and Liteon DG-16D4S drives (Unconfirmed) The key location on phat models is now in a different area, so a new JF will be released to accommodate this change which was already anticipated in advance.

There has been EXTENSIVE progress with all the new AP2.5 challenges. New 0800 BENQ fw is almost ready.

There is a new XBC (Xbox Backup Creator) that has been designed alongside the new 0800 ripping fw - you'll love it

There will be new LT fw's for all of the new versions that have been released.

XGD3 progress is being made and there will be an update on this soon.

We have received unverified reports that after the update to a 9504 slim drive the write protect was enabled like the 0225 drives (Unconfirmed)

All the slim key read and slim write routines have changed also (again fully anticipated). Easily fixed with new JF

We will also confirm that we have a solution to unlock all 0225 drives so you can write the firmware. This has been 100% verified and working and we are producing the addons as we speak and will have them available as soon as possible.

We will release 2 versions, a kit for pro modders to offer as a service and also a DIY mod type device that users can install themselves. There is a LOT going on so we are working as fast as possible on all projects.

So in the next few days/weeks you can expect new Lt firmwares for 0225 and others, a new Jungle Flasher, a new 0800 fw with new Ap2.5 support, a new Xbox Backup Creator and an addon to unlock 0225 and 0401 Liteon DG-14DS drives (which will also work on 9504 drives too if they become locked out)[/b]

Bottom line, do not relfash back, your just playing with fire.

Also if anyone is using a spoofed drive orwrong OSIG, or wrong drive, etc, they will fail the update and no hope of EVER updating without their original drive,a nd stock FW's can be found in the full fw packs out in about.

Thats what Ive been wondering about, Ive got a messed drive I was gonna hook up for doing the updates. I guess I would have to switch the keyvault so it matches, right? Cause I assume theres more to these updates than just the firmware

The point is if you swap your benq for another benq no problem. But if you swap a benq for a liteon the update may or not fail but for user you get flagged.

Grrr! I had just gotten 3 of my consoles flashed last week. BAM! Now, neither of them play my backups. It's killin' me on the shipping back & forth thing to get them updated. But alas, such is the nature of our community. lol

Where do you send your to get modded? I too am in VA and I'm not comfortable applying the Jtag myself.

New intel from the same source of the first post:

Which drives are being flashed?
Slim Lite-On: PLDS DG-16D4S 9504 -> 0272 ($flash_oddupd1.xex)
Phat BenQ: PBDS VAD6038 62430C/64930C -> 04421C ($flash_oddupd2.xex)
Phat Lite-On: PLDS DG-16D2S 74850C/83850C/93450C -> 02510C ($flash_oddupd3.xex)
Phat Samsung: TSSTcorp DVD-ROM TS-H943A ms25 -> ms25p---
Phat Samsung: TSSTcorp DVD-ROM TS-H943A ms28 -> ms28p2f9, ...

Slim Lite-On 0225 and 0401 and all Hitachi drives are not being flashed.

Where can I get the new OFW flash files?
The new full 256 KB OFW flash files for Slim Lite-On 9504, Phat BenQ and Phat Lite-On drives can be found in the official 13146 System Update. Open the su20076000_00000000 file and extract the appropriate $flash_oddupd<x>.xex file for your drive with wxPirs (mirror). Then extract the FIRMWARE.bin file with XeXtractor or XexTool.

Samsung drives are updated with files from $install_extender.xex which contains 4 smaller patches rather than full fw files: ms25p1f9, ms25p2f9, ms28p1f9, ms28p2f9. Each patch is 48.4 KB and makes some changes in parts of the firmware. Therefore you must obtain the new OFW dumped from an actual Samsung drive. dragoscojan's ms28 drive was patched with ms28p2f9 with the 13141 beta update in early April. If you have a Samsung dump from a 13146 update please PM me.

I've updated to 1314x and my drive has been flashed to new OFW, can I flash my drive back to LT+ 1.1 to play backups?
Yes, but only if you're not concerned about being flagged or XBL banned.

So flashing back to LT+ 1.1 is detectable?
Yes. Custom firmware is designed to imitate OFW as close as possible so the console cannot detect it. LT+ 1.1 is based on old stock OFW so it imitates old stock OFW. Updated 1314x consoles are expecting to be communicating with a drive with new OFW. This is the first time in the console's history that drives are being officially flashed so when a drive is flashed to new OFW you should treat it like a "brand new drive model". And typically when a new drive model appears it often requires a new custom firmware version.

I'm not going to risk flashing back to current CFW. So how can I play backups with my newly updated console?
Wait for LT+ 1.9 which is based on new OFW.

Can I install the update with the drive disconnected?
No.

Is the drive key in the keyvault/drive changed or zeroed during the update?
No.

I have updated to the new OFW. How can I obtain and inject my drive key?
Older versions of JF do not recognise the new OFW fw versions. Use JF 0.1.83 or later. You can also try Electon^-'s e-Tool.

I have a non-JTAGable console with no drive key. Can I install this update so that maybe the drive key in the keyvault will be inserted back into the drive during the flashing process?
No. The update will start to run but you'll get an error message code like 3151-3355-1600-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx and the entire update will fail. If you flash one of the full new OFWs (any or no key) to the drive first then run the System Update the dash will be updated leaving the drive alone and the key won't be inserted. This way you can update consoles without known drive keys to 13140 and later.
