Bummer! I want a HD-DVD player now! May have to look into a Toshiba HD-A1... what features will the Xbox 360 add-on have? 1080p out? I thought I read that the Toshiba HD-DVD player was only 1080i...

Even the Toshiba HD-XA1 ( The $800 version) has 720/1080i up conversion, I'm not sure about 1080p? I'd rather get the HD-A1, not a bad price for $500. Also, The reviews on the HD-A1 have been very good... Smile

I don't see how the MS hd-dvd would cost any more than $200 if they want to compete with the PS3, in my opinion if it is more than $200 the xbox 360 will be going down in price by whatever amount it exceeds 200.

Isn't the HD-XA1 just a dressed-up version of the HD-A1??? I thought they were basically the same hardware.

No kidding, Your right Porsche.!! The only difference is the $800 tag, that sucks?? I don't see any other difference?? You would think the $800 version would support 1080p. Just as you mentioned earlier, I'm also looking into buying the HD-A1 at BestBuy, I just can't wait for M-soft to release the one for the Xbox..

I think there are a few cosmetic differences... like the drive door is hidden behind a hinged panel... BFD! Not worth the extra $300! Walmart's version, HD-D1, is exactly like the HD-A1, right down to the price, except for the Walmart version is all-black.
