yo yo yo, just uploaded a dark image of the new cabinet sitting in my lounge room.. lol.. im sure you can see my usual mess.. hahah Go to page no.1 of this thread to see the pic. http://www.360-hq.com/postx6495-0-0.html

Im recording some videos tomorrow and taking some really good pics of the whole thing inside and out, this custom machine took quite a bit to get togehter since it has a pc with mame and JAMMA (jamma means arcade board connection), i already own like 50 boards like wonderboy, mortal kombat pacman etc etc but this one make it so much easier..

btw.. has anyone ever seen windows in japanese.. so funny!

enjoy!

So how does it work, does it have a bunch of games built in on a hard drive? how do you add games and the such.

just to update you and it has a pc motherboard plus a special japanese JAMMA mo/bo convertor built into it in a little black box, its very cool, thats the parts i was having trouble finding for months. i could find a decent setup and didnt want to rig up a shitty pc etc and i wasnt sure about the LCD.. Everyone told me it would ruin the overall experience for games like pacman etc etc but how wrong they are.. hahahha

I'm getting a bit older now so i dont see the reason why i can't re-live my childhood in my loungeroom every now and then.. lol I get sick of the same old call of duty over and over.

I saw this one on gizmodo a while ago when i was looking for stuff i can't afford.

I do believe the joysticks slide out and are both on the same side so good for 2 player games like street fighter.

Half MAME cabinet, half pretentious furniture, this new coffee table by Surface Tension mixes worlds to adultize your gaming habit. Available in walnut or oak, the table features a 19-inch LCD, Shuttle PC with dual core CPU, integrated USB and HDMI outputs, 100W of speakers and two sets of high quality buttons and joysticks. With this hardware configuration, you can play games on the table or output the experience to your HDTV.

For those who already have a PC of their own to stick inside, the table is a available gutted of its computer components but still packing all of the joysticks and handy ports. In this bare bones configuration, the table runs about $4,000. Fully loaded with the PC and two packs of games, the system is priced at $4,900. (Those prices include delivery and VAT in the UK.)

It would be so much cheaper to convert a table like that with draws into a mame cabinet and a hell of alot cheaper then the way i did it. Smile I sourced all sorts of crap from everywhere and finally met a guy on the net who knew how to do everything already, a wealth of knowledge..

I used to run my own arcade machine business years ago and i have like 2-3 of them still around but as you can see, this one is more a keeper and wont be thrashed.

hahha, no doubt. I find when i make things myself i dont appreciate them as much since it was only me who made them.. I think that's why i went for a custom made cabinet in the end, sure anyone could make their own cabinet but will it look as good!
