I was just plugging my controller up for a charge and was wondering if any of you guys use your PC to charge your battery packs like I do. I don't like leaving my Xbox on simply for charging. Plus I swear it charges a lot faster.

I always wondered how those charge packs were. I used to use the charge station from Nyko before I just started using a wired controller. Would you recommend the play and charge kit?

I would recommend Uniross 2700mah rechargeable batteries. You can get 4 for around £4-£5 (£10 with a charger) and they are much much better than those plug n play pants packs. They hold a charge longer.

Just my opinion.

I would totally recommend the charge kit. I got mine for $15 at Gamestop. I got the Nyko. Doesn't matter what name you get. They all have generic rechargeable batteries in them anyway. I've popped mine open and replaced the batteries with Energizers.

And the PC charged it from completely dead to fully charged, in about an hour or so. I takes the xbox I would say almost 3 hours to do the same task.

Didn't realise you could do that, the stock batteries are pants. If i knew, i would have changed the batteries in mine rather than have sold it Sad

Personally I'm a little wary of reccomending the play and charge kit. I've gone through at least 4 batteries and they (the offical ones) haven't lasted me all that long. Saying that though I did get the 360 pad and charge kit (the black one with the chrome guide button) and I dont know if its the pad or charge kit but it seems to be pretty good. Usually get a few days worth of gaming without needing to charge.

Sounds like you might have had some bad batteries or were leaving the controllers on. Mine always lasts a few days before needing a charge and as I mentioned, I use Nyko, not the Microsoft. Just paying more for the name. Hopefully your New set will last a lot longer Bomernee.
