Hey everyone, Im looking for some info on the new 360 that just came out.

Are they using a new drive other than the lite on?

Is there firmware available for the drives in them?

Has there been any issues with heat or rrod?

Ect...

Also im looking for a good article about it that would include any hardware issues with it.

Thank you much Smile

Hey, yes there are new DVD Drives and I'm 99% sure they are firmware moddable! The 360 Slim has been completly redesigned for performance and a nice look. They do get red ring of death, but it is WAY more un-common. If you have any more questions feel free to shoot em up in the forums. Wink

They do, thats why it is way less common. Hehe. The console has been redesigned for better air flow. Since heat problems is the main cause of Red Ring Of Death.

It has a feature where if the console gets too hot it will shut off for a while to cool off. Good and bad feature if your playing a game, but it does help to prevent RROD.

It uses less power too and the CPU and GPU are tiny now on one chip. Everything they did this time is top notch. Just don't run consoles and computers in enclosed spaces... always a good policy.

It gets the RDOD (Red Dot of Death). Like Darth says you get a warning and it shuts down, this was discovered either just before or just as it came out, pretty lame. Here is a link, look at post 2383 LINK.

I'm actually pretty pumped about the new 360! Very Happy I am selling my old 360's and getting a new one asap. As far as rrod goes I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Microsoft was not about to rush this design and took thier time making sure the nightmare which was the original 360 doesn't happen again. But one thing I noticed is that it almost looks like a fancy original xbox standing up!! LMAO! Laughing
