Did you have your dvd tray half way open while flashing? I think this is required with the Liteon

Did the eject status say drive is closed, Just looking at a line from a manual
"You need to power on the drive with Eject status closed but 'Tray Half Open'."

Im not the moder here but until one of them chimes in I will list some issues I have found that you can try.
powercycle your drive and try again
One guy having the same problem fixed it by scratching off some of the coating on the dvd board where the probe goes, he was not getting a good connection.
Does your drive show up in Jungle Flasher? if so make sure you have chosen the correct com port before you try to read your key...in upper right on screen. You will receive that error message if the wrong com port has been selected
QUOTE FROM SOMEONE WITH SAME PROBLEM...
I was getting the same thing a couple of nights ago. I ended up having the pins going to the db9 backwards. I switched them and it worked first time. You also have to make sure you do everything in order. i.e. power on drive, open tray, unplug power from drive, disconnect pin 3 and push tray in half way, then plug power back in. it should read if you do those steps and your extractor is correct.

Also, if you use a USB you may have to install the proper usb drivers, Im sorry I dont know where to get them but if you need them I am sure someone will post, Also some tutorials I have watched state that it is better to use the serial port rather than the usb on some kits as usb will sometimes not work and give errors.
Oh and on the open tray, you could try opening it a bit more, this worked for someone else, it was not open enough. you can try more open or closed.
If you get it to work, please post back and let us know what the problem was.
some more posted solutions...
i kept getting this when following the jungle flasher user guide. So instead of powering on the drive to eject it. Turn off the drive then manually open it using the slider pull all the way out then push half way in then it worked for me
solved it by just pressing more firmly with the probe. The built in spring alone isn't always enough tension and just because you have a green light on the probe doesn't mean you have a good enough contact
I ran into this when I was flashing a lite-on. Rather than opening the drive and then pushing it partially closed, try opening the drive and then closing it using the button and then cut the power to the drive when it is halfway closed. That is what did the trick for me. I am not sure if the CK3 lite has a power switch on it, so you may need to just pull the power from the drive.
had a problem with jungle flasher reporting "serial data bad" aborting.
But i just switched mode b on (led to red) dumped again all fine!
simply ejecting and pushing the tray halfway in never worked for me. thats how i do it :
power on, eject, power off, push halfway in, sata in and out, power on

One more issue I have seen on some of the forums ...
I GOT IT!! My god what a pain in the ass lol. Ok here is what happend. If you guys have tried everything and everything has failed for you take a very close look at your serial cable. Mine was wired completely wrong. Meaning fault of the manufacturer. Plug your serial cable into the ck3 and look from the top perspective,(starting from left to right, sry i'll take pictures later) it should be green, red, white. Mine came with Green, white, red. I had to do alot of research to figure this all out lol. Thanks to the wikki someone made on their home made version i followed the traces on my ck3 and something just didn't add up lol. After alot of oem's testing and takin apart the serial cable itself I found the issue lol. Dumped my key on the very first try
