I took my old 360 20gig hard drive apart to use as extra storage for my pc. But windows vista 64bit doesn't recognize it and neither does explorer 360 or xport 360 but it does show up in the device manager. It is hooked directly to my pc via sata. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

You should have two different cables plugged into the HDD. One for power and one for sata. I did the same thing once, forgot to plug in my power and realized after an hour of searching for the problem that I didn't have the power plugged in. Hope this helps. _________________________________________________________

i ran the explorer 360 as administrator and was able to extract the image. then went to computer management and was able to format the drive for general usage. thanks for the suggestion.
