While looking up idea's about mods a while back, I stumbled across a guide for altering the original LED colors via additional wiring, specifically not replacing the actual LED, and I was wondering if anyone knew about this or had a link. I was looking for something else at the time and passed it off. I've got a spare RF board I picked up cheap and was looking to experiment with it.
Any help would be appreciated, aside from the standard swap-out.

I've never heard of re-wiring them. As far as I know all of the ones on the pictures you see are desoldered and then soldering on the color you want.
Another member who's done the mod should know more.

If I recall correctly, you had to jumper different pins and chips just to swap out the red and green. I remember seeing schematics(or parts of) labeled for other colors too.(not schematics, but wired pics of what may have been the backside of the rf module, but I'm not sure.)
I've only seen this on one web page. It was a very plain forum, black text white background, little to no actual graphics. I've been searching google on and off and can't even find a forum that looks like that one...you know how google is though, "xbox 360 led mod" yields a million results, and half of them trying to sell you led's.
I'll definately post when I find it.

After some part research, I think we're using either a bi-color LED, or a RGB led. The guide that I'm looking for leads me to believe that it may be the RGB led, as I remember violet being one of the possible colors, and that the 4 ROL led's are something akin to:
There is one lead that seems to have no contact with solder on each of these 4 LED's. But even bi-color led's have 4 leads, as it were.
If anyone has info on this it would be appreciated.
I know it's easier to swap LED's straight out, but I'm finding this somewhat interesting.
Update.
LEd's are only red and green. I used an external power source to test on my extra board. Unless there are other models with different led's, this topic can be closed.

Hey. If you're looking for a ROL mod head over to www.llamma.com and order one whatever color you want.
$50.00 but better than soldering and taking the chance of ruining it. _________________________________________________________
