Ok, If you ask Darth he also have done some other things to his box like the x-clamp fix and maybe that could be a contributor to his issue. No I do not like any of the other add on fans such as the pelican cooler, which is run off of the usb on the back of the 360. Sure it gives you a couple more usbs on the back and some different connections. Just like the picture that you posted, I don't like all the extra crap on the 360. There is a lot of cleaner ways to do water cooling. I like the clean and neat look to things but, no matter how it looks it works. Obviously you like the intercooler, and I am glad that it works for you. Oh, and as for the new one not melting, if you get something hot enough it will melt. Now I didn't ask for a confrontation on this issue, I believe the title to your post is "cooling fan pros and cons (asking for info)". That to me is asking our input on the subject and I have given mine. I hope I have been of some help but if not well, i tried.
I am not trying make a debate or something (thats for Obama and Mccain)
Its good to hear diferent opinions... thanks for sharing
By the way i am thinking in installing a whisper fan can i want to skin my 360 with a blue theme and whisper have fans with blue ligth.

The intercooler really doesn't help at all, if anything it almost makes it worse.
This is pretty much true.
When you have a series of fans in an enclosed space, air flow will only be as fast as the slowest fan.
Without modding, any fans attached to the back of the 360 will be little to no help.
Other fans, however, like the sides(or bottom if you have it on it's side), or the top if it's lying down, can add to the airflow of the system over all, but won't necessarily help gpu/cpu.
Hope that helps

I have case that shows the temperature and the intercooler works.
I personally would just like to see a stock 360 that actually keeps cool all by its lonesome. That would be truly refreshing....Pun intended. _________________________________________________________

Where's the reading taken from, and what are the temps with and without?
I would NEVER Recommend the intercooler, and heres why.
1) They don't have their own power supply and it has been a proven fact that this can mess up 360s Microsoft even said so.
2) They pull air out faster then the stock fans and in turn this could wreck them over the long rung
3) The plastic they are made of isn't designed to withstand the heat some xbox 360's produce and can melt to your console.
If you have your xbox 360 open I would recommend either a talismoon whisper or a whisper max, and if you are still having problems an XCM add on fan. Sure you void your warranty but you may not need it if you keep your console in a well ventilated area and dust it out every few months, and even change the thermal paste every once and a while (it dries up)
Best Regards,

Agreed reb..
I wouldn't recommend the INTERCOOLER either..
I had email after email many months back from people using the site asking why their xbox 360 had fried only a few months after installing the INTERCOOLER.
Frozenfire12 is correct because the INTERCOOLER was reported to draw too much power from the xbox 360 and caused all sorts of issues.. They have since fixed the problem but I still wouldn't recommend them unless you absolutely have to use one because you don't want to open your xbox 360 console.
Here are some links about the INTERCOOLER to back up our claims:
The Whisper fans are extremely quite and simple to install and I recommend them to anyone willing to open their case.. I have whisper fans installed in all of my xbox 360's and not one of them overheated. I live in Australia where somedays it can get from 40 degrees celcius to 45 and thats hot when the xbox 360 is on all day.
More info on the Talismoon fans can be found in our hardware database which ive link you all too below.
