dude i have heard that same story tied to all tennessee dams. not just the nolichuckey river dam.

but to the Fort Loudoun Dam, and the Tellico Dam. i have heard stories of catfish being as big as a 1950s ford truck at the Tellico Dam.

so dont get your hopes up lol. several UT professors and scientist and several TVA scientist have looked into the 10 foot catfish story, and have never found any proof lol.

Nolichucky Dam is a dam on the Nolichucky River near Greenville, Tennessee, maintained by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).[1] The dam impounds Davy Crockett Lake,[1][2] which extends 6 miles (9.7 km) upstream from the dam.[2]

Nolichucky Dam was built in 1912-1913 for hydroelectricity generation.[1][2] The dam is 94 feet (29 m) high and 482 feet (147 m) long.[2] TVA used it for power generation until 1972, when sediment buildup in Davy Crockett Lake made continued electricity generation impractical.[2] The dam and reservoir are now used for flood control and recreation;[1] the reservoir is a wildlife management area.[2]

I live in Southwest VA about 45 minutes from TN and I've also heard the same stories. I've also seen some monster ass catfish but nothing that big. The biggest one that I've seen was a 88 LB blue channel catfish that was huge.
