hey everybody, i have been searching the internet for a couple days now and have not quite found out an answer to my question above. I am thinking about purchasing a wireless broadband internet the guarentees a minimum of 384kbps download and 256kbps upload, but the website also says that i beats most dsl and is equal to some cable, there was another thing about a possibility of 10mbps, but they only showed a minimum not concerning the customer with a maximum. What i was wondering is if this was enough to play xbox live, like gears of war and halo. you guys have been a big help in the past with my xbox problems and questions and i appreciate all the help i get.

Hey law65,

As long as you have basic ADSL or DSL with 256kb upload you should be fine. The upload is the most important thing.

I only have 1500/256 ADSL and i have no probs playing online apart from the occassional bit of lag that i get when i get into a room with other countries..

I can host but no more then say 4 people otherwise its laggy.

I always say give 75k per person you want to host.

thanks for the help, it is hard to decide because i live in the country and have almost given up, but tommorrow i plan on going to a neighbors house and taking my 360 and testing their connection to see if i does indeed work, so the upload is what matters i thought so, but i never host so i should be good right. thats good, well thanks to your help and just wanted say i love the site, always provides help. and one more question do you play gears alot? cuz that is one of my most favorite games im semi good, but not the best. cuz i only play when i hang out at my one friends house. But if you would be up for a game some time send me an invite or something. it would be a pleasure to play. I can send you an friend request but im sure your friends list is full, but if not i can send you one or vice versa. well thanks for the help and good luck with the sites. there fun!

By Wireless Broadband, I hope you don't mean Verizon, AT&T or Sprint data card. Yes they are unlimited, but the TOC states that you cannot use for streaming, and they consider online gaming streaming.

They will send you a letter saying that you have violated the TOC and end your agreement. Trust me I worked for them all and thats what they do.

Hey Hobbs, although the speed is 256k there is generally a higher latency with wireless than when using landline/cable/DSL. Broadband.

Should still be ok, just dont even bother to host. (i know you said you wouldnt.)
