I've have enough of being taken for a fool by Xbox, and I'm hoping there are some other Aussie users here that feel the same way.

Yesterday I got tired of waiting for Boom Boom Rocket so I emailed Xbox Live Support requesting they enlighten us all with a release date. This is the reply I received...

Hi, Robyn!

Thank you for writing Xbox Customer Support!

I deeply apologize for the inconvenience and as I understand, you want to know when Boom Boom Rocket be availble in the Marketplace.

The Boom Boom Rocket is a rhythm music game where you detonate beautiful fireworks in time to remixed classical music. This will be release on November 11, 2007, available for Xbox Live arcade games. Of course it's not quite that simple though! Balance your combo multiplier while exploding different colored fireworks with the appropriate button presses.

For further assistance, please don't hesitate to write back or call Xbox Phone Support at Australia: 1800-555-741. Hours of operation (AEST): M-F 7.00am to 9.00pm; Sat-Sun 9.00am to 5.00pm. (http://www.xbox.com/en-AU/support/contact/).

To expedite service, please provide Service Request Number 1038643619 when you call.

Note: You may link your console to your Windows Live ID, and check repair status online at the web site: http://service.xbox.com.

Sincerely,

Erl

Xbox Customer Care Team

I feel somewhat enraged by this reply... what on earth could hold up the release of such a game by seven whole months?! What's more, the 11th of November is a Sunday!! Not only that, the reply is one of those stock standard replies they use for anything, with one line added to make it "relevant" to my complaint.

I called Xbox Live Support today to ask for an explanation as to why Australasian XBLA users are being left out with with regard to DLC and after being out on hold for 40 mins and being told that my query was being forwarded to a different department, all I ended up with was a headache and another reference number!

So I implore to other Australasian XBLA users, pick up the phone and start complaining!! Not just about Boom Boom Rocket, but content (or lack thereof) in general! If we pester them enough they have to listen eventually!

Personally, I would suggest you go and signup for a free silver account and make sure you have a good address etc in your info.

Then logon with your free silver account and purchase the game.

You may need to buy a USA points card though.
Thats how i get my releases early.. I cant stand waiting anymore.
Its a joke.

btw.. On Video Marketplace they have all these new shows you can see the first episode for free but Australia doesnt get jack.. Also, ausin powers full movie is to be free for download soon sponsored by macdonalds but only for USA users..

Im even thinking about setting up a proxy so i can get some decent content.

I knew you could use a fake Japanese address for the ps3 to get their early content, but I always wondered about doing that with the 360 downloadable content. They should just have the same release date for everything everywhere at the same time. It seems like that would be easier... Confused

Idea
Maybe the boat that was delivering boom boom rocket got lost on its way to the land down under?? Wink

Just so you know, we've done this already in order to get the demo. And you're right, I will have to buy a US points card. Its an awful lot of hassle to go through when they could just get it over with and release the damn game already!

And you're right about content too... when we set up our US silver account we had heartattacks when we saw just how vast the difference is between OUR content and THEIR content... and most Aussies aren't any the wiser. It makes me angry.
