Put it this way wayneski.

The USA (NTSC) XBOX360 required 110volts...
In Australia we have 220/240v only..

So.. With that said you will need to purchase a TRANSFORMER from DICK SMITH or something like that.. I will link you to the one that i bought.. I boought from dick smith and went for the 500Watt model just incase the 360 needed more power then suspected.

If you plug in the 360 to a 240v power in australia you will blow it up..
If you have a UK (PAL) based xbox360 you could be lucky and just have to change the plug but i have no info on their setup.. Sorry Sad

You should be safe with the 300W model from dick smith if you have a NTSC 110v 360.. Its alot cheaper then the 500W i bought.. I can use my 500W for my other consoles which a 110v and i have imported from years ago.. So thats another reason i got the 500..

heres a direct link:

Step-Down Transformer 115V 500VA: (link fixed)
http://www.dicksmith.com.au

hope that helps.. Enjoy your 360 when you get it and hope to play ya online too.

wayneski,

put it this way..

Ive played my 360 everyday since i got it over one week ago..
I left on all day in 40 degrees celcius + heat here in australia and never had a problem.. I got the 500w just to be safe incase the 360 did need a little extra power on startup.. But i have been told several times by many people that the 300w should be fine too..

Mine does NOT get hot.. It gets warm maybe after having on all day and thats it.. Its meant for continous use 24x7..

anyway, i can vouch personally as i have my 360 right here next to me plugged into my DICK SMITH 500W transformer (the white one i linked you too above)..

I tucked the transformer away behind my cabinet and you cant even see it..

More then happy.. Smile
