i guess it would take an exclusive market, and features to be different than another android based console, i know what you mean though when rasberrypi came out several competitors came out with better specs but i think rasppi is still going strong with a decent following.

id get ouya for xbmc and retro games, as well as trying out every ouya based game. ive only seen 1 for sale so far here, it was $120 for a development version so i think i will wait till after xmas and get a better deal.

You can already emulate up to ps1 on some Android boxes, forget about Ouya until they wake up and release a revision needs to be made with higher specs. Like I say people just got hyped about it because they heard it was open source and Nvidia getting involved.

And if tons if not thousands are saying to avoid ouya then you probably want to avoid it. Would you rather have pura Android on your bigscreen that can run xbmc as well as apps from the play store or have to only use what they provide, unless you wanna program a game it's not worth it, even then with Android you can just learn how to program games and launch APKs.

I'm not trying to start an argument here kenneth, just sharing my experience with ouya so far. Its been totally positive and here is why:

1) It is like the original xbox how is only going to grow with time and continue to get better and evolve in capabilities
2) It reminds me exactly of the original xbox how it runs xbmc. xbmc was easily tied with halo 2 for most played on my original xbox.
3) It has the following to allow it to grow and evolve as more people develop for it, give it to the end of the year and it has netflix and everything else available.
4) It plays your retro games
5) It's at a price point which will allow for a lot of people to get and play and experiment with

Just give it time it will only get better Smile

Android boxes would give you a better experince and play your retro games, that price isn't bad but like I said for $100 you could get this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281131021341?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 - $50

There is one with higher specs.

What? It can run bluetooth controllers, plus it sticks behind your tv so who cares what it looks like? You must think flash drives are hideous

Can say I don't have any bluetooth controllers here as I don't have a PS3.
I'd rather not have something jammed behind my TV there is enough stuff there already.
Flash drives and External HDD are ugly so they are put out of sight but I don't buy a HDD or flash drive to display in my cabinet.

Dont be so biased about them, like people said dont judge them until you try them, the whole point I was making was that there are devices for the same price with faster specs that run smoother, all people are going to do is run emulation on ouya and not give a rats ass about the store.
